Av Gas

Anyone have opinions on the pros & cons Of running av gas or race fuel on trackdays.

328 e30 & e36 m3.

Only those in the know please :rolleyes:

No point or gains without higher compression and full remap of ECU.

E36 M3

E30 328i

and a 6spd 540i

Not going to do anything for you

The higher octane is necessary for higher compression engines and some turbo engines. This is because these engines are knock limited while using lower octane fuel

And to round it out... avgas is leaded and bad for o2 sensors.

Makes exhaust pipe an awesome grey though.

The 328 hasn't got either and the M3 soon to be like wise.

No o2 sensors on the m3?

Goes to a base setting, slightly richer.

Clogs cats too. The main reason lead was removed.

Smells oh so sweet.
