E30 M50 clutch

Recommended Posts

I am using a G260 on my m50.

What clutch and pressure plate combos can I use? I'm guessing if I machine the m20 flywheel down a little bit it will work and be fine with the m20 starter motor? Or can I use a solid m50 flywheel with the g260 gearbox combo? I need something soon or I cant get the crank balanced.

Cheers

i made a billet flywheel and used a ring gear off a v6 holden and fitted the bigger m30 clutch then use the 11 tooth pinion starter

knowing what your trying to do with the m50 the m20 is a waste of time and lighting flywheels isnt a smart thing to do if you like your feet and legs , plan ahead and you'll be better off in the long run.

Just do what I did and make one out of billet.

Here what I did.

Make sure you have the whole lot balanced together afterwards.

+1 on that even if its made from mild steel its 1000 times safer than any cast flywheel thats been hacked up.

I used a m20 6.5kg flywheel and a carbon kevlar clutch with m20 starter. By the time you factor a higher through out bearing, new slave cyl and bolts it was around $1000+. I know on Trademe you can get a combo for around that price. Food for thought...

Guest Ari Gold

Match your starter / clutch / fly to the g/box you're using.
