Exhaust for E46

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Need to replace the exhaust on my E46 and was wondering if this would fit?

or

And would I have any issues with sensors or error codes?

Thank you in advance for everyones help!

Dee

You will get the dredded BMW 6 mid range drone with these as they are generally to small and have poor internal packing. If your car is Jap import you will have the two into one setup where exhaust combines into one just post of cats. This area is very restrictive for gas flow. I removed this bottle neck and gained much mid range power. The 2.8 engine in stock form is quite limited for power gains as cams exhaust and inlet are all sized for torque. Should have no issues with sensors as you are not removing them.

As above, a mate had one on his carib, was quite droney and that was only a 1.6 4cyl.

I'm running a twin pipe straight thru 2.5" with custom headers and a remus rear box and two sets of resinators. It's not too droney, sounds good and just under 92db.

I'd try get a m3 exhaust setup or a miltek etc.

Wouldn't bother with cheap crap cause that's what Itl sound like

Are you based in Auckland?

I've got a remus quad tip exhaust on my E46 325i wagon at the moment, it sounds really good.

I'm considering going back to a standard exhaust for several reasons, so send me a PM if you're interested.

My understanding is it will fit sedans too.

Not sure who stocks Remus now, but they're not cheap systems.

I'd suggest replacing the exhaust with an OEM one if you don't want to spend much.

Cheap ones, as everyone else says, sound horrible.
