allan 295 Report post Posted July 14, 2012 Replaced the top strut mounts, bump stops and rubber protectors this afternoon on the front suspension. Does any one have an easy way of stopping the strut rod from retracting down wards making it difficult to attach the top strut nut thanks.

dubman 39 Report post Posted July 15, 2012 if you have bump stops, would it actually matter if you mark the upper part of the rod, as it wont be in contact with the shock seal?
yng_750 247 Report post Posted July 16, 2012 found with the shock still extended in the spring you can tigten a small hose clamp around the shock shaft this stops it retracting and because it shres the load doesnt mark the metal this was handy when changing springs etc
