keen 6 Report post Posted September 9, 2012 I have just replaced the rotors and pads on the front of my wifes car 2000 e46 318. The dash light is still on. Does it need to go into the stealer to have the light turned off? or is there a way of doing that ones self or is there another reason for it to stay on? may be the back ones need replacing also. Although they looked not too bad from underneath. What can i do from here?
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted September 9, 2012 You need to change the wear sensor as well. Some need a service reset to clear the light. You could also have a rear issue as well.
keen 6 Report post Posted September 9, 2012 hi there Glenn yup put a new sensor in as well. assuming the rear ones are OK (I'll remove the rear sensor and have a look at it) I have to get it switched off by the stealer? any other options?
Greg111 13 Report post Posted September 9, 2012 You need to leave the key in position two for 30 seconds for the light to clear. Starting the car straight away will leave the light on.
