raschwar 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2012 Whilst working on my throttle body I noticed that a connector was hanging from the bottom of the wiring box just forward of the throttle body. It was tucked up towards the front of the motor and has an unusual end. Rather than a molded oblong with pins there is a conical, slightly bell shaped end with a small metal disk inside. I'd send a picture but my uploads are failing. The connector wiring is about 6 inches long. Thanks for any ideas.

raschwar 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2012 Hi Allan, It's on the left side. I just discovered that its not conical. The connector itself is a single pin. Part of whatever it plugs into broke away and was still attached to the connector. That's what is round. 2000 528i M52 motor. You can see the piece still attached. Any idea where it came from? raschwar 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2012 You're right. It's the oil pressure switch. I ordered a new one plus the oil filter housing gasket. Do them both at the same time and minimize the pain. Many thanks Rick
