Driftit 2081 Report post Posted November 18, 2013 Josh I am near ready to drop the motor in the E34. Point me in the right direction for sensors and switches that are best compatible with the unit. Also for Gear selector switches is it best to install before the box is put in? Also have forgotten how many inputs you told me it has.

BMW to start with then to other applications .. (mitsi, slowbaru etc) Josh I am near ready to drop the motor in the E34. You'll be the first stand alone test system .. so I will have to re code everything for analogue and probably build a special interface for your tachometer. Good thing is it should make it faster? Gear selection is calculated ... Around 16 analogue and 16 digital. Facebook me and we can take it from there.

Let me know where the band-wagon is stopping next...
Driftit 2081 Report post Posted November 18, 2013 More than enough inputs. I will update the Map ecu 2 to the latest firmware this coming weekend. I will also look at tapping a temp sensor for the new diff before I put it in.

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted November 18, 2013 Cool. You want 0-5volt ratiometric powered sensors for pressure and temp. Standard hall effect for speed and tacho You're probably looking at the following and a minimum. **Needed Oil Temp Oil Pressure Coolant Temp Boost Pressure Fuel Pressure Intake Temp Throttle Postion Speed Signal Clutch Switch **Optional Diff & gearbox temps Brake Pressure via string pot or just have a pressure sensor tapped into the brake lines (this is better). AFR via wideband EGT Battery Voltage Would be interested to see what the MAP2 is capable of outputting and in what format. The MSS50 has around 25 ouputs and I bump that up with a few external sensors. Youll probably be having to do most of it with your own sensors.

Jibs05 86 Report post Posted April 14, 2014 I like where this is going. I've always wanted something like this rather than gauges cluttering my interior.

adz 50 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 I'm guessing I'm not the only one, but is there any more development on this? Very interested to see this hit the market!
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted May 31, 2015 Have been working on the GPS part of it. The lap timer code is proving very difficult to implement because of the real time maths needed. However I now have GPS logging working no problems. In the mean time here is some more work on the different screens I now have running. You can switch up and down the screens via the buttons.
adz 50 Report post Posted June 3, 2015 Looking good, will it be able to flash warnings, oil pressure etc?
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted June 4, 2015 Yea, has a box around on warm up and over max value warnings on most. Pressure for over and under. Working on other things with the LEDs too. Which I wont give way too much on just yet.
