Carl 3 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Alright, so the left one is the parking brake, the middle one is the brake pads, but what is the right one?
bravo 35 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) Either brake fluid level or ABS. If it is red - brake fluid level. If it is orange then ABS. Edited August 25, 2005 by bravomikewhiskey
Carl 3 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 Figures, I thought it had something to do with ABS, cheers
Hartage 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 not Quite, ABS is a red light that will only come on, If you have abs fitted to the car, goes off once the engine is started, if it stays on then there is a problem with the ABS system. One of the lights (P) is park brake One of the lights (!) is brake Fluid level warning, ( i think its this one) the last one will be the the Front Brake pad warning I Think that is the way they are. Yup, I an you are right, it is the brake hydraulics warning light.Should come on and go straight out when engine has started. If it comes on at any other time it is indicating that the brake fluid level is too low. The ABS warning light actually has the letters ABS inside the circle. topless 13 Report post Posted August 25, 2005 ABS light is orange and next to these 3. Pic will explain... (E30 dash)
bravo 35 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 Not always - but the it might have nothing inside the circle. I didn't go out and check, but like I said ABS should be ORANGE and yes it does go off once engine is started. Like I said Brake fluid or ABS. Brake pad wear is the one with the dashed lines... Grant 4 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 (edited) Like I said Brake fluid or ABS.No - it is definately Brake Fluid, without a doubt. Definately not the ABS light.I have double checked in the owners manual. Also I have the same light, with the same symbol and don't have ABS. topless 13 Report post Posted August 26, 2005 No - it is definately Brake Fluid, without a doubt. Definately not the ABS light. I have double checked in the owners manual. Grant is right here, and I have also cross-checked the handbook. One of my E30's has ABS, the other 3 don't. The ABS light is the orange one next to the brake fluid warning light. The brake fluid warning light has nothing to do with ABS. Your ABS will still work even if your brake fluid is low and the warning light is on. (but not too low!!) The ABS light shows a failure in the ABS computer or ABS module.
