Black box with 6 fuses in the back of the Touring

There is a black box with 6 fuses (4 on top, 2 at the bottom) on the inside of the clip down compartment on the left rear end of the car ( on the opposite end of the washer bottle) what is it and what can make it make such an "weak wheezing alarm" sounding electronic sound? I'll take a photo of the unit in the morning.
