sti-ted 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 (edited) Been ages since an update Well since last time my f clutch went on the auto ...no reverse just as I was going for a warrant.grrr. Ripped the gearbox out and while I was at it replaced all seals and clutches.total cost of gearbox rebuild $800... fingers crossed. Then radiator hoses sprung a leak ...$400 later fixed all hoses. radiator decided it wanted to have a leak too...replaced at $350. While the car was on Jacks I decided to build a new exhaust ...brought genuine m5 headers and went from there ...sounds so good . All new eibach thicker front and rear sway bars .front Koni yellow struts. Front lip for motorsport bumper . Cai fitted Slotted and drilled rotors all round. Changed wood trim to black trim using oem trim Edited April 17, 2015 by frederic
Breaker 980 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 Be great to see some pics. I loved my 540 but it did cost to keep it sweet, still miss it though all the same ... Sounds like you've got a good start with NZ Motorsport as the base
sti-ted 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 The only prob is buying a car where the previous owner hasn't maintained it...hence all the repairs - I still don't have a warrant lol. My e36 motorsport was the same you would think I would have learnt.
Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 Keen to see the S62 headers dude, they would have made a nice wee difference to the rear wheel power too!
BreakMyWindow 1878 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 S62 headers are nothing flash.. same as the pre vanos m62.
sti-ted 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2014 Anything is better than the log manifold they replaced ( very restrictive compared to new headers)

kiwi328i 118 Report post Posted April 18, 2015 New pics http://s1135.photobucket.com/user/sti-ted/embed/Mobile%20Uploads/story Nice ride, more sensible I think than the E34, but it doesn't sound any more reliable. ha, once everything is done though I guess you have some piece of mind for a while. Are you going to change the mirrors? That's the only thing I would change with yours. Question: Do the drilled rotors make ANY difference in normal driving? Cheers
