Excuse my ignorance but could guts of the large case diff fit an E39 diff?

Yep I believe so. As urs is large case and so it is, it will have the correct type lsd size. Best give Kayne Barry a call on 0274975330 if you needvit done. Thanks

The LSD portion of the 3.15 Diff is taken out and put in yours, or the front section of the 3.15 is altered to match yours to bolt this straight in. It needs to be torqued correctly but is a fantastic upgrade for enjoying your power while sliding!

Not true, there a different thickness to where the crown wheel bolts up to so doesn't line up properly, there's two different thicknesses, one for 2.92 and below which is a manual 328i ratio and for above. Got caught out Afew years back

Yeah damn you're right, forgot about this. However there is a way around this if the diff is being rebuilt. Ive used M3 centre LSD's before on 2 3.64 diffs so can be done but costs a bit more. Effectively if you're willing to pay for a rebuilt diff, you can have the LSD in any medium case diff no matter the bolt hole size.
