Kobra 180 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 Hi guys. I recently had to removed the passenger seat from my E36 316i compact to lay some wiring. While the seat (with airbag mat sensor) was removed, I turned the the key on to test my wiring. This turned out to be a mistake. The car decided turn on the airbag light on my dash board. I have a Bluetooth ELM327 scantool, but that doesn't seem to be able to reset the airbag light.I don't want to go to a dealership and spend $200+ to have them connect plug and press a button. And the reset tools online cost $80+.Does anyone have an airbag reset tool that I could use? I'm located in Christchurch, but I will pay for courier to send the tool. Any help would be much a appreciated. Thanks.
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Cock up = pay..... $200 hundy is a bit over the top. We would charge $20- $50 dependant on your attitude or gender BTW: The correct tool that is used to do this can cost between between $500 & $12,000 dollars Edited March 28, 2014 by *Glenn*
yng_750 247 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 I have had similar ranged from $60 to free depending on how busy they were. Is fairly generic reset seeing as you know where the error came from so they should be able to accuratly quote a price with no hidden costs. Allanw 1071 Report post Posted March 29, 2014 BMW Scanner 1.4 from Xcar360 (china). About $40 NZ... but you'll need the OBD to round adapter, AND wait until it ships

I already own an adapter, and I also have an OBD2 bluetooth diagnostic interface (but does appear to be able to reset the airbag light). It is OBD2, but because it's an e36 compact, it only has the round plug in the engine bay. I'll PM you, M-Spec.
