Eddie 66 Report post Posted June 23, 2014 We ran the at Taupo on the weekend. The results were good but I have a lifter problem. After only a few laps at high revs the lifters start to collapse. The oil pressure doesnt drop and the oil temp isnt high. once back in the pits if you leave it idling they all good quiet in less than a minute. I removed the oil filter to see if the m42 oil was restricting the oil flow, it made no difference. Its has magnatec 15/40 in it. Anyone with any ideas Does the m54b22 have poor oil flow to the head? Allanw 1072 Report post Posted June 26, 2014 I'd like to be more help, but I haven't heard of lifter problems in them. What temp was the oil at? Eddie 66 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) How high are you trying to rev or? just over 7000 I have modified the tensioner by installing a smaller spring inside it and reducing the oil bleed off hole. I will look into what S54 one cost but I have been told what I have done will help. I will change the oil this weekend. I've been told its only a problem for cars that are being tracked and revved hard for a number of laps, I could be just asking to much form the factory valve train. We ran the car last Sunday over a 3.5km bent sprint with no problems Heres a video with my son driving.
