thief broke my door key holes & messed up my door handles!

last night I returned home after having a good night with friends at the bar, I drove it home and woke up this morning (midday) to find out my cars door handle and keyholes were all messed up by some some stupid scum bag. the key wont enter or turn at all from the drivers side, they even messed up my passenger side although its operable. I'm having to go in through the passenger side every time and then open my drivers door. funny thing I originally thought it was at the car park but that was not the case, it was IN MY HOME! These pricks have been driving around and pulling up next to houses to check our cars, made a report to the police but will keep an eye out now.

Going to the locksmiths on monday, anybody got some easy/helpful tips on the repair, and how deep to I have to reach in my pockets, called the lock smiths up and the guy was being a superficial funny man. But thats where most of my neighbors get their work done so going there anyway. should I stip the door cards out?

i thought about that, and it hit me, it wasn't in the parking lot, it was while parked in my driveway after I came home last night, I was uptill 5am but never noticed anybody or any noise! ! talked to some neighbours and these scumbags have been coming and screwing with some of our cars at night, they saw these dogs have been pulling up on our little oneway block to check out cars, but then quickly pull out as soon as they see somebody.

I drove it home, we had no problem opening the doors, it was done at night, in my house, not in the lot. the pricks are targeting our neighborhood.

should I strip the door cards out before taking it to the locksmiths? how does it work?

guys, I think I am going off to live in my car tonight, in case some thief scum bag kids wants to come back, I can disable brain and hack off their limbs. then stuff them in the trunk and off to abby caves we go.

in other news, I took apart my door card, I don't know why but my drivers door is not opening from the outside, nor does the keyhole turn (damaged or screwed up, will take it to the lock smith tomorrow and see if fixing the lock will maybe fix the door latch, anybody have experience why the latch wont grab and open the door even though its the door is unlocked and can be unlocked from the inside? its as if something dropped or jammed? could it be due to the bad key hole?

will have the key holes plugged once this problem is solved. I HATE people like this, every stupid kid with a screw driver things he can steal a car, take something that's not his, that some other guy put his blood and sweat on. tonight is day/night 2, nobody turned up. I dont think they will, I would poke holes in them with the screw driver if I ever find these pricks caused me hundreds of bucks worth damage for nothing.

Try spraying crc/wd40 around the door lock/latch. You might get lucky. With the door too.

got the door handle to kinda work, I have to really yank it real hard at one go and it would open but still stay a bit out unless I place it back in. i have a spare early e36 sitting around, can anybody point me to a diy that shows how to remove the door handle from the door, I cant seem to figure it out, then maybe I can simply swap the door handles and have the locksmith swap the keyhole tumblers etc if they can fix it, just trying to save a few bucks because the guy may charge me a lot if I let him do the whole thing.

has alarm but not sensitive enough to go off at the key being messed with, no microwave sensor yet. if doors are opened or the car hit it will trigger it but other wise no.

I took out the whole door lock/handle and took it back to the lock smiths and they fixed the door lock .

Cost me only $35 and a day of my time. I am going to try to wire an alarm to my door handles so when ever a thief or somebody pulls a door handle the alarm goes off
