As the title say, where can I purchase the tool that undoes an E36 (M44) Oil filter?

Also, what should I expect to pay?

Purchased a Powerbuilt socket piece can't remember what size it is, from repco, cost around $30-40?? A few years back, 20+mm?

If it's the 36mm socket, I couldn't find one in NZ and got a 3/8" drive shallow socket off e*ay for about $26

That is correct. Its a plastic housing that needs to be opened. There is a proper tool that can be purchased which I am after.
