jonoe30 53 Report post Posted February 4, 2016 A long shot, but thought I'd ask... are any places in Auckland where you can rent a bay in a workshop with a vehicle lift? Planning to pull the rear subframe and replace all bushings, of course I can do this on jack stands but I'm just feeling super lazy. Extra clearance of a lift would make it easier to unbolt subframe and diff and lift chassis away.I know there are franchises in Europe where you can rent a bay, but haven't heard of anything here... Matth5 471 Report post Posted February 4, 2016 Would be a good business... Maybe some workshops will allow it outside of business hours if you call up and ask.
polley 916 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 Theres a workshop in hamilton that I saw advertising on facebook that was doing exactly this, you can hire tools etc as well. We have a couple of hoists here we let people use as well, but not much help if you're in Auckland.

emandru 17 Report post Posted February 6, 2016 I would be very interested to know if someone knows of anything also. I just recently moved from Canada and picked an e34 and would love to start tinkering about. Troy can you remember what the shop was called in Hamilton? BMTHUG 1039 Report post Posted February 8, 2016 Has anyone tried this place recently? I contacted them about 2 months ago and they had mentioned that they shut down. They would of been shut down due to OSH regulations and people not adhering to them. It's very hard to get around health and safety regulations in most cases so it is really hard to offer this kind of service
emandru 17 Report post Posted February 8, 2016 I'm not convinced by that one as in the states as Canada there are plenty of these shops and OHS is a lot tighter there. From my chat with them they mentioned that they just didn't have enough people interested to justify the expense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe some better advertising would have helped.
