qube 3570 Report post Posted March 10, 2016 Currently has a 70Ah battery in our 2006 E91 325i but seems to need replacing. Can I change it for an 80Ah or 90Ah? Does it require some kind of programming? Any recommendations on where to get this one or can I simply buy a battery myself and swap it over? I called the dealers and it was 400 odd dollars so wondering if theres a cheaper option. Thanks!
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted March 10, 2016 You can't go cheap. The battery needs registering to the vehicle and to change amperage requires coding
Matth5 471 Report post Posted March 10, 2016 I think you're supposed to code it. There's a procedure to reset the battery life so itknows there is a new batter, and there are other parameters for type and Ah rating I believe. Maybe ask one of the places like BM workshop, I'm sure they can do better than $400, that's crazy...
