moolahlee 1 Report post Posted April 21, 2016 Hi there, Recently purchased a E38 728i and have known there was a lingering problem of some oil leaking around the lower left hand side of the engine. It often results in burnt oil smoke coming from the bonnet while idling in traffic. It has also increased gas consumption and a loss of low end torque. Have googled the symptoms but want to hear some thoughts from you guys. The car has done 186xxx and is good mechanical condition otherewise. Thanks heaps

NZ00Z3 187 Report post Posted April 21, 2016 Sounds like you have a pressurised crank case forcing oil out some where. Suggest: 1) Find the leak and order the gasket 2) Order the PCV and all associated hoses. 3) Change the PCV and all Associated hoses 4) change the leaking gasket.
