M3 CSL... Mutant?

Recommended Posts

Just thought id mention..

That I saw a Black M3 on Kroad at 8am yesterday.

Except something was different

It was like entirely M3CSL..

So it had the body, wheels, and the badges.

Except it was Black.. and they only come in silver..

I was like 2 seconds away from running out on the road to confront the guy, but the lights were green again..

If it helps, the front didnt have a plate, but a dealer logo.. i think the word prestige was used...

Anyway - CSL painted black, or M3 with $$$$ worth of OEM options paint matched?

Developing the new M3 CSL, BMW has redefined the limits to dynamic motoring. And to provide a visible sign of this supreme standard, this uncompromising car comes in only two exterior colours, Silver Grey Metallic and Black Sapphire Metallic.

The above was copied directly from:

I think black looks a little nice as the carbon blends in.

On a side note I had an M6 SCREAM past me on the way to work this morning on the motorway. I really did make a mess, what a sound...

Seriously n00b. There is a (single) female lawyer in town with a black one. Saw her in a matching black suit. OMG please prosecute me.

I just never picked up on the whole black thing. You never see it in any magazines/photos/websites etc. So I assumed that Silver was the only colour it came in!

But yeah now that theres the option, Black over silver anyday. It was Hawt.

Oh yeah, and everyone wanna sell their cars to buy this? We'll take turns driving it - kinda like timeshare.

See a number of CSL's here in London, one's often parked on the road outside the apartment (if it were mine it’ll be locked in a garage !). I think I'm seeing more M3 convertibles and CSL’s than the standard M3's. Good to see that they are also been driven by younger people. Nice cars!

Second had prices have come down with low mileage CSL's going for as low as 75k NZ (30k pounds). So if people are in the market for a second-hand one, look seriously at having a holiday in the UK and save yourself $35- 50k nz.

Not sure if the e46 M3 CS is out in NZ yet, but BMW have released a half-way model between the two. These look great with plenty of colour choice. Have seen a couple recently.
