I always end up with a rough finish and need to do a lot of rubbing/cutting when I do touch ups Also I used some 2k clear they said it was high density stuff which goes on alot thicker and alot more glass look at the end. zero 1162 Report post Posted September 24, 2017 Great work! With all the effort you have made, why not just spray the whole car?
325_driver 422 Report post Posted September 24, 2017 (edited) Lol ... Thought about it... Still can if I wanted to I suppose with all this spare paint. The issue was with all the prep so was going to do section by section since I had a limited time window. And the paint on the other panels was mint any way. Looked like a past repair / paint job had stated to go south tho. But I'm ending up going to do the entire front bumper now, few scuffs and easier to sand back. So that leaves me roof + doors + fenders if I wanted to haha. Was also unsure on how much 2 litres of paint would cover, the shop suggested that I would need 2 litres (un-thinned) to do what i did. 325_driver 422 Report post Posted October 1, 2017 If you had a spray booth definitely lol .... Probably won't do it in a workshop again. Too Much dust from everywhere even after a big clean up and also water on Ground

I love this thread. yeah subliminally i've been uploading this stuff not just as a progress memory for the future, but to tempt others to get into it. I mean who else wouldnt want black mesh, and black kidney grills, they make the car look way more agressive if you have a 330ci, you have to look aggressive. I can't believe the before and after shots of the car, wen't from average looking vehicle before - to 1000x
325_driver 422 Report post Posted October 1, 2017 (edited) The CRC liquid cut and Polish works amazing btw. Got a 2 step finisher that adds nice deep glass look Still a few finger prints in that photo lol Trialed with some cheaper compound prior to crc and can definitely notice a difference especially in the time to get the result. zero 1162 Report post Posted October 2, 2017 Would you hire me your spray gear, and sell me any remaining paint, so I can spray my engine bay?

325_driver 422 Report post Posted October 13, 2017 And one last thing! Don't know if everyone likes the style but I think it adds a little pop to it. I'll be putting up some propper ride photos up once my new wheels arrive. Add it to the bimmersport community officially!
