modz 148 Report post Posted November 28, 2017 I’m wanting to clean my m54 engine of old oil and dirt gunk before reassembly. Mostly because I hate dirty stuff, but also because I might as well having removed this much off the engine block! I have the inlet ports blocked with rags, but given the engine is on an angle what have others done/used to clean the head area particularly? Mr Vapour 76 Report post Posted November 28, 2017 Just cover the intake ports with duct tape/100mph tape. If you want to.get real fanatic about it make up some blanking.plated out of perspex and use intake mounting points to bolt down.
dirtydoogle 383 Report post Posted November 28, 2017 I stuff the ports with rags and then use tape to cover them. Then get the tooth brush out and spend a year cleaning
