Maunde 2 Report post Posted July 2, 2018 Hello all, I am new to the forum as well as the mighty BMW engines. I am interested in purchasing an M52 or similar in the future, and would like to know typical costs that one could expect for a rebuild. Not a full rebuild, but including the following: All seals and gaskets Pumps (water and oil) Other consumables. Has anyone done a similar rebuild and would know the costs? Appreciate the help greatly! Maunde

Driftit 2069 Report post Posted July 2, 2018 Yup FCP Euro, VAC Motorsports, ECS Tuning are the best sources. They do OEM or aftermarket. You can get seal kits. Upper and Lower. You can also get hose kits and service kits that include the pump etc. You may want to look at some upgrades too. Jump on their websites and input your vehicle details. Go from there. Just remember it's in USD and you will need to pay GST once the stuff arrives.

Are there any particular parts which would be different from the US BMWs? Cheers

Enter the part numbers into the websites above and there you have it.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted July 5, 2018 pay attention to where the expansion tank is on your car, as thats where the difference is. You can simplify the cooling system by fitting a rad with a built in expansion tank, you ditch about 3 hoses. upgrades include fitting an alloy thermostat housing and an alloy Z3 M radiator in place of the OE item should you choose to do so. I hate the BMW plastics. Also remember your heater core is a part of your cooling system, and an often overlooked item in a cooling system overhaul.
