balancerider 793 Report post Posted September 9, 2018 Not terribly clean in this pic. Not many modifications planned - towbar and a bit of coding? Don't want to lower it despite the massively tall x-drive suspension, it barely clears my driveway as it is...

balancerider 793 Report post Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Small update - paint correction and installed rear transparent strip (great job by Elite Detailing in Wellington) to protect from the dog! Edited May 2, 2020 by balancerider
balancerider 793 Report post Posted October 12, 2020 Cleaned and polished with Autoglym (cue torrential rain for next 24h ? - some good beading going on though) Very happy with my digital speedo.
Weynay 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2023 What a beautiful car, would personally die to own one. Seems like they never sold the 335d new in NZ or Japan, UK only for RHD cars and I suppose yours is also from the UK? The speedo looks good without the mph rubbish, did you swap the whole unit? balancerider 793 Report post Posted December 20, 2023 @Weynay thanks! Yes as far as I know the UK was the only RHD market to get the f3x generation 335d. NZ got the 330d xdrive single turbo version. Japan only got 4cyl diesels. Not sure if Singapore / Malaysia ever got them. The cluster had the gauge faces swapped but the cruise control still displays in mph - I have a native kph one to swap in but need to find someone who can code it
balancerider 793 Report post Posted February 3 Can't edit the title but there are now two BMW's at home. Don't think the new one quite fits the 'ultimate driving machine' moniker but range seems good (Chch-Welly on 77% of battery) and it's a very pleasant thing to commute in. Wheels are UGLY though.
m325i 712 Report post Posted February 3 I also just bought on of these - (but the top spec/model), This eDrive20 was insane value (assuming you got that deal). I am super impressed with mine. Yeah the range isn't class leading, but once you get your head around an electric car, it's somewhat irrelevant. (Especially if you have a home fast charger). I don't mind Tesla, and I like Elon, but a BMW blows a Model Y out of the water

When it’s a choice between this, a BYD and an MG for equivalent money, it didn’t take us long to pick (the ADAS on the Chinese cars is awful). Acceleration belies the power numbers (150kw/250nm) and it feels quite happy at open road overtaking speeds. I don’t think I’d want to do more than 4.5 hours without a break anyway (which it can manage on a full charge)
