Scottwnz 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2019 Hi all, looking to buy a B12 Pro Kit for a 95 m3 3.0. Prices are a real mixed bag out there and can’t seem to land for less than $1500, and that’s defore duty if they get stopped. Anyone had any success sourcing these for cheaper, or can recommend a better combo? cheers
M3AN 4016 Report post Posted March 4, 2019 it was a few years ago now but I found a great deal on Amazon where it was less expensive to buy the shocks (B6 or B8) and springs (Pro-Plus or Sport-Plus) separately and you get sway bars thrown in whereas the B12 kit doesn't come with bars (IIRC). Admittedly, I missed the initial price drop sale and had to wait about 3 months for another sale so no good if you're in a hurry. Also the shocks and springs/bars didn't go on sale at the same time so it can be a bit of a pain if you need it all together. All up the invoice was less than NZ$1000 (but I ended up paying less than NZ$500 which is another story). I had to drop-ship them via LA to get them to NZ (I used kiwishipping.co.nz). Airfreight on these is expensive and a boat is slow so another compromise required there. If you can find what you're looking for on Amazon you can set up a price watch with https://camelcamelcamel.com/ which is what I did and just waited... If you have 18" wheels or use the car as a daily you might want to consider the B6's over the B8 (which is what comes in the B12 kit) as they're less aggressive. I have the B6 + Pro-Plus combo and am very, very happy - car should have come like this from the factory. A heavy shipment like these is 99.99% assured of getting stopped and pinged for GST (plus admin costs) unfortunately.
sobanoodle 45 Report post Posted March 4, 2019 I had a B12 Pro kit imported from Germany. Did heaps of searching and finally found a place that offered VAT free for out of Europe shipments. Will search through my emails now.
sobanoodle 45 Report post Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) Found it, https://www.autodoc.de Can also do https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ slightly more expensive due to exchange rate differences , EUR vs GBP. Around $1,200 landed in Auckland before GST (no duties for carparts) Plus GST etc: NZ$1,500 all up. Edited March 4, 2019 by sobanoodle

I’m on factory 17’s, keen to stay as close to original as possible but didn’t grasp the whole b6 b8 idea before. Definitely not a daily so leaning b8. Will research $$ on a seperate package. **can you enlighten me on why the 95 seems to be differentiated to the 96 onwards? Is it that different?! Many thanks!!! Late '96 on was the 3.2 and that comes with different suspension geometry although I thought that was limited to the top mounts, kingpins and arms. So I can't tell you if/why shocks/springs/bars are different on the Evo... but if Bilstein or Eibach have different part numbers then I'd defer to them and select accordingly. Badical 21 Report post Posted March 10, 2019 You could also try demon-tweeks over in the UK. https://www.demon-tweeks.com I've used them for some stuff and my brother has brought a suspension kit off them for his polo and they had really good shipping rates.
