GorGasm 563 Report post Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) Ugh. Doing the wiper blades yourself isn't going to touch your warranty. Same with the micro filter. $150 for two bits of rubber and two minutes labour is just stupid. Edited April 16, 2019 by GorGasm

I'll do next time. Do you know what parts wouldn't touch the warranty?
GorGasm 563 Report post Posted April 16, 2019 Think of things that would not affect the mechanical operation of the car. You could actually do anything you want if you do it right.
M3AN 4016 Report post Posted April 16, 2019 Well, in this case he was going to pay the $350 anyway, might as well get new blades and filters thrown in. But I agree, some of those prices seem excessive but probably explainable if they're sourcing from BMW NZ who have ridiculous parts pricing.
qube 3570 Report post Posted April 16, 2019 ^if I am not mistake, I think the OP has paid every bit of the service, including the wiper blades and filters, and the $350 excess was for the expansion tank and hose ONLY which is treated as a "breakdown/fault" whereas the others are just a part of the upkeep.
