06 Z4 E86 3.0SI Sapphire Black with Oregon Red Interior

Hi all, 

I owned a showroom modified Datsun 240z 25 years ago, and never got over selling it. 

 

Then I found a 2 seater, straight 6, modernish coupe. The Z4 E86. I love this car. 6 weeks into ownership I've installed Ray's Homura 2x7 19" wheels, on 235/35 fronts and 265/30 rears and did the sound generator mod.

The E86 is a great looking car.  Black with red interior is a nice combination.

Yeah, that looks great. I don't think 19's look good on many cars at all but you've pulled it off.

Cheers for the likes lads, and thank you for having me in this forum. 

 

The sound generator mod. It's available on the 3l models as I understand it. There is a tube leading from the intake to the cabin with the purpose of piping in some sound. Both ends contain foam. 

 

The mod is to remove one or both. I can highly recommend trying this. It only takes 5 minutes and is easy to reverse.

Its odd how BMW did so many different intake versions for making different noises, 330 has nothing, 130 has a little diaphragm and tuned snorkle that isnt plumbed into anywhere, and Z3 they plumbed it into cabin. 

Ive never heard a Z3.0 n52 in full angry mode, but the 130 certainly makes more a howl stock than 330 does.
