Williev 11 Report post Posted October 27, 2021 Hi there I am based in Half Moon Bay in Auckland and I am looking for someone that can diagnose my fault codes on both my BMW's. I have a 2000 Z3 and a 116I 2006. I also need advise on noise coming from the rear of the Z3. I think it could either be the differential or a bearing. Is there someone that will be able to diagnose and advise as I would like to do some things myself but happy to compensate for time diagnosis and advise. Looking forward to hearing from the best bunch of beamers ever. Kind regards Willie

NZ00Z3 189 Report post Posted October 27, 2021 Your 2000 Z3 is all OBD2 so is easy to diagnose. Like wise the 116i. Maybe you should look at setting up your own diagnostic kit. There are cheap and expensive options, depending on what you want to do: INPA software (free) on a windows laptop with the cheap special USB cable and an OBD2 to 20 pin lead for the Z3. Reads all modules and lets you code new modules to your car. Software and some instructions are here: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?2184573-The-Z3-Diagnostics-Thread-Instructions-Experiences-Discussions-Experimentation Creator C310+ scanner. Low cost, reads all modules. Will not code new modules. Foxwell NT530 with BMW software. Mid price. Reads all modules but will not code new modules.
M3AN 4016 Report post Posted October 28, 2021 if none of the above works out for you send me a PM, I have the necessary software and connectors. We'd obviously need to work within the current lockdown constraints.
