qwertyk1d 12 Report post Posted February 20, 2022 Hi gang Looking to purchase a fresh jap import 135i M-Sport and was looking to book it into a BMW specialist for a prepurchase inspection. I just rang Bellars Motor Works and they want $340+GST for it? Seems steep! Has anyone had one done by them? Was it worth the coin? Any other good cheaper options on the North Shore? First Timer 22 Report post Posted February 27, 2022 AA will inspect for roughly $200 ( less if you are a member) its about a two hour check. I did that on several cars before i decided on which one to buy, and then i had a dealership check the car for $300. Cars aren't cheap; inspections only add a small cost. aja540i 1906 Report post Posted February 27, 2022 (edited) I personally wouldn't bother with the AA for a pre purchase inspection, they aren't worth the paper they are written on! I have seen a report on a vehicle that I had also inspected for a family member and it had so many mistakes I told them to complain and get their money back (they did). I used them once and they missed several quite obvious defects and I have also heard stories of their inspectors doing compression checks on their own vehicles if it was too difficult to do it on the subject vehicle!
