Cement 871 Report post Posted June 25 Looking to try and tidy up my many stone chips and came across this solution: https://drcolorchip.co.nz/ Has anybody had experience with it ? Certainly looks like magic in the videos, but then again many things do.
Smackiee 15 Report post Posted June 28 Hey, Used it myself when I was working as a detailer. It definitely does work and is easy to apply. But don't expect it to be as perfect as a fresh paint job. Certain angles in certain lighting will make it a little noticeable but if you're standing a meter back, it's pretty good. I was doubtful at first before I tried it.
Cement 871 Report post Posted June 30 Thanks for the feedback @Smackiee, definitely not expecting it to be a respray alternative but just to hide the few hundred worst chips on the front Will give it a go !!
Smackiee 15 Report post Posted July 2 Keen to see before and afters when you end up doing it!
m325i 709 Report post Posted July 4 Yes I have. Although i wasn't patient enough with the road rash bits, as it wiped too much off. (I need to do again). For normal chips its good and easier to level than OEM touch up paint. It's really the only option I can see for road rash areas. I would recommend.
Cement 871 Report post Posted July 29 So can confirm this is a fairly good system ... i have only gone over things once at this stage. When i actually got to starting it really looks like it's been sand blasted in the front and needs a repaint at some point. However ... it has transformed the general 'tidyness' from a few metres back for sure and the quality of the job will be directly related to the amount of time you put into it for multiple applications etc. For every big one you can see in the photo below there are about ten small ones !!
Neil McCauley 394 Report post Posted July 29 That's a mega improvement! Looks like I'm adding that to the August project pile.
