Alright fella's, I popped my cherry and got my first BMW, probably hum drum to y'all but kind of exciting for me. Only other "performance" car I ever owned was a MK1 Golf GTI (1800), that I used to rag around London in, until I hit a tree and wrote it off, so this is quite a step up.

But I recently got a e82 135i N55 DCT. No mods, just a tune from autopassion. Looking to do the chargepipe soon and the down pipe at some point, but what I would really like to do is accentuate the exhaust note, and if anyone has any advice of what can be done by way of exhaust mods that will really bring the exhaust note into its own I would love to hear about them.

@fast&curious welcome!  you'll certainly be much safer in the e82 if you insist on revisiting that tree-hugging past.  I know what you mean; I hurled my MKII Golf GTi 16v (1800) around a bit in north america.  Getting into my first bmw (e30 325i Touring) in London was a huge step up in engineering and manufacturing quality.

I don't have much advice re the 135i.  Other than research your mods carefully.  Don't forget to replace all those vac pipes... boost leaks ruin the ownership experience.

Have a turbo six, although probably can’t offer any advice on the mod front. Have a cheater exhaust system which makes more noise when the exhaust flaps bypass part of the rear muffler. But to me it doesn’t sound great from the drivers seat in that mode.
 

Owned a few of these over the years . Might be 37 years or so with BMWs.  Roughly 800,000 kms of smiles ( mainly ) .Guessing this is a long way towards addiction.

And the encouragement on the BMW journey, gotta say I am enjoying the 135 immensely. A lot of fun, though I do think it needs a bit more of a growl. Looking forward to my first 10000ks and all the smiles along the way.

Never drove a 16v MK2 but after the MK1 I did have a 8v MK2 for a while, but it wasn't a patch on the MK1.

CharlesB (not sure of his username) is on here and has modified his 135i a LOT.

He lives down here but am sure he could offer some good advice.
