Toast 121 Report post Posted Wednesday at 09:49 AM This 328i has some history. The bad: - Odo hasn't worked in over 10 years (it will occasionally start working every couple of days for an hour or however it pleases). Estimation from the driving I did with it from and the previous owners admissions put it probably over 400k km, the chassis is absolutely flogged. - Spent some considerable time in the far north on the coast, everywhere you'd expect rust, expect more. Paint is flogged too. When the seller says "Body is rough, was on the to do list." that list won't end. - 13 years ago had a hole in the passengers side A pillar at the base near the arch. About the size of a 20c piece but it had rusted completely through. - Gearbox was noisy back then. Hopefully it's had some new fluid? The good: - Car IS factory manual ZF, IDK where the story started that it was manual swapped - maybe when the "Vin Decoders" weren't working as intended. - Non Airbag from factory (early 328) - Has had a tune put on it for the M50 manifold - Looks like quite a bit of servicing has been performed, although the Wof failing rust once again hasn't been disclosed so take from that as you will
Eagle 1791 Report post Posted Wednesday at 10:25 AM Another skid bro's flogged E36. I think the odds of anyone buying a car like that on this forums are minimal.
topnotchrally 178 Report post Posted Wednesday at 12:55 PM Is the steering angle modified? Can it get a WOF like that? Just curious. I didn't even realize this was a valid mod (for drifting) until recently.
Eagle 1791 Report post Posted yesterday at 06:27 AM That thing will likely never have a WOF again in its life
topnotchrally 178 Report post Posted yesterday at 06:58 AM Seems like that's something that should be mentioned in the ad.... pointing out that the rego is on hold, to me, implies it might be road legal where as it seems to be far from it. I suppose the 'drift car' heading could be warning enough. 😀
