Senna's death wasn't caused by a steering column failure,it was holding torque at the moment of impact.His accident was caused by the Car bottoming out [due to tyre shrinkage while the safety car was out] and resulting in a sudden loss of downforce. It shows his car skipping out due to the bottoming out then with his lightening fast reactions trys to counter steer the slide but then the car grips the road again and he turns himself straight into that wall. A simple case of over correcting at almost 300kmh... Ouch that was a hell of a bang,,,, see how far he bounced back off the barriers.
