ipwnyou 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2006 Well picked up the car with the kit on it today - very nice car, nice interior, very strait and very stock under the hood, has all the little extras and covers etc. Took some shots before swapping the wheels over. Still yet to swap suspension and exhaust, and then the gearbox (as the new is auto). Thing goes like a bat out of hell, came with receipts for over $3500 worth of rebuild work on the engine done by Team Mc Millan. Did a bit of work on it thisafternoon, last shot is at the carwash. Still need to get interior pics - it has that horrible fake wood vineer glued to half of it. Got a lot of work to do to get it up to standard, I think it needs a diff replacement as it's making some funky noises. So watch this space!

I'd only had the car a month or so, hardly had the hang of it But yeah, the 316 isn't exacly oozing horsepower....if your car can only loose rear wheel traction in the wet slightly on an angle, then you need to upgrade... ipwnyou 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 (edited) Yeah its the one off TM - I just swooped in there and planted a nice cash offer - guy didnt want to let it run until the end because it ended Xmas night. Yeah the little bits painted white look weird, like around the side mirrors, around the number plate and the handles - I didnt like it initally but it seems it was done properly, so I've left it. I still have to de-black the grill (as not only do i not like blackened grills, but this has been done badly) and also to re-black the black grills around the lights etc. (i use a vynal dye, works really good). Also have to black the headlining and get some either smoked or cleared tail lights - thus far I havent seen any good E30 tail lights that are better than stock. I've fitted the proper clears on the sides and front, looking pretty good. Spent 4 hours cleaning it top to tail, and an extra 3 or so hours cutting / polishing / waxing to get the following result. Went on a bit of a road trip up north in it Saturday, took some shots. The paint is perfect - no cracks, no dents, no chips - anything in the pics is just dead bugs lol...had SO MANY. Haha do not worry about that, it'll be a very nice ride hight tomorrow once I get the suspension off my other E30 and clean it up a bit, clean up and paint the calipers - and give the wheels a clean, and i'm finished externally. I need to find some decent seats - it has aftermarket Recaro's which are nice, but old and worn. And with the kidneys - I was never much of a fan of changing it from chrome - in my opinion that's what makes it a BMW - it's like taking the BMW badges off and either fitting those horrible ///M Bages or putting a giant H on there. We'll see though, i'll swap it and take a shot.

Take some photo's of the seats if you're selling them, I'm looking for a set of cheap seats that will be a bit more supportive than the stockers on my secret project. Sounds like it's gonna be a nice ride! I quite like the whiteness.

The passenger is a bit more worn, a little less comfy but looks the part none the less. They're for the 2 door too, so have the appropriate releases on them to get in the back. I think the rail on the drivers is a bit loose - I dont know if its the mounts or the actual rail - will investigate. Will let you know first if I find some appropraite replacements, I went to Hyper but they have a sh*t range. EDIT: And i'll give ya a great price if you tell me what ya secret project is Edited December 17, 2006 by ipwnyou

Yeh the secret project doesn't have any backseats to access so that's not much of an issue. Didn't think about maybe just getting them recovered instead of buying new seats? Didn't think about maybe just getting them recovered instead of buying new seats? I thought about it, but they've got the extending thing out the front etc. which makes them more expensive to recover. By the time I get the recovered and in and out, i'd be a good way to new seats - got a quote on $700 for a pair of reclineable black seats (nice looking) plus $300 install. Ideally i'd like some genuine M interior, so I might wait until my next trip to South Africa and bring some back with me as stuff like that there is common as hell

ipwnyou 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2006 Are they similar to the seats in my E36? http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....mp;#entry103477 Practically the same except they're a bit tighter. The design is the same though. They hold you in pretty nicely, I was doing some pretty mad cornering on Saturday
