It has definitely been done if you look on the m42 forums. Loads of parts on them are interchangable. My dad is building a 318is coupe and considered doing a Frankenstein m42/44 but ultimately just went with the m44 for simplicity. Lightweight flywheel, itbs etc.

Picked up my 1972 E9 Coupe from the paint shop this weekend. It looks amazing in Aplina Grun 2. Jamie and the crew at Automotive vision in Nelson knocked it out the park. The car is so straight it is amazing. I wouldn't go anywhere else now. So the now hard work for me starts again, wish me luck!

Got the front rotors ordered and should be here in ... November Validated the fitment with all the printed parts and all looks well. Happy to press ahead with the manufacturing from a fitment perspective ... just not a budget perspective. Yet another project that's really stacking up far more than expected. Got my rear caliper seals installed. Supplied by US Procurements if anybody else is in need of Brembo seals. Also installed the new bleed nipples and the cross over pipe which I have (need to get the other side still).
