Hey Does anyone know if the first e39 m5 came out with the 6 cylinder or were they only v8's.that i assume would mean the e34 was the last of the six's was that correct? then what year was the last six used?

the reverse lights now don't go.They were getting to be trouble over time but I could move the gearlever around and they would come on but not any more.someone know what to do? or had the same problem? The car is 1989 year

Have you replaced the two relays on the firewall along side the inspection plug? ones a fuel pump relay the others a ecu relay and they play up.
-
Have you got some photos of it or could you send me some I'm interested.

I put a "Simota" in mine as well, They have graphs showing theirs in a comparasin with the k&n and theirs is just ahead.Apart from the colour "blue" they are in all respects the same.and way less in cost.I just put in a panel one as there is no need to make up cooling boxes as with the pod fitting. If its not boxed you can negate the small proformance increase with the engine heat getting in.Bmw's take cold air in from the front in their standard system and you would have to make quite a few changes to fit the pod effectively for it to be that much better. But as usual talk is cheap until you put your car on the dyno with the both systems I doubt you would pick the differance just driving it.

thanks for the help yup we did get in, a lot of pressure on the key to get it to turn around to the twenty to twelve postion, but it worked. now to get a new batt in and back to normal.thanks again
-
thankyou for the advise so far, we will try it and see how it goes maybe we didn't turn the key with enough pressure just in case we broke it.
-
Can anyone help? my sons car has been garaged for 3 weeks and it appears that the batt has gone flat(we assume) and trying the bmw recomendations of using the key in the passengers door lifting the handle and turning the key still does not open the car .does someone know how to get in? oh it is a 1989 motorsport e34. new in nz if that is important.

That rule is pretty open to the person who is going straight ahead, I neally got caught the same way but something made me stop and the straight ahead vehicle continued over the sideroad to the kerb to pickup a person standing there. I then asked a cop who was at fault,as the driver had indcated to the left.and although he said it was a grey area the turning vehicle is at fault.I think it should be the indcating vehicle should be at fault.hes signalled his intention.Sorry about your car who were you insured with?

The English language is suposed to be a living thing. hence the ever changing words in the dictionary because of usage. No doubt texting will change things as most people don't spell well and texting covers this up nicely and also the correct construction of sentences So the spoken word will change like it or not To slow this down speak to people or write them a letter. Are you in that much of a hurry?I believe that along with drug addiction. Alcohol addiction and sex addiction(just thought I'd put that in there to spice it up a bit)I believe that we are all addicted to phones. So we are doomed anyway you look at it.Just a question here how long could you go without a phone?
-
maybe silly but do you have the dip stick pushed home fully?
-
Thats an expensive query I would not be 2nd guesing that problem.check for leaks around the engine first then go to the sump plug and drain out whats in there.thats the acurate way and put some new oil in.$50 to $60 is a lot cheaper than a cooked engine.

I have a e30 318 manual Went from palmerston north to owrea with some auckland running and got 6.8 litres to 100km filled up and got the same on the return trip.Don't think I could get bmw claim of 6.5 though!

hi there I have the coils and an ecu but it is from an auto. do you have an ecu from a manual?or is it not nessacery for, a auto to manual change? Can i not get a a sparky to convert the ignition over? And is it possible to stay with the same loom and piggy back the extra sensors into the exsisting plug? i was told there are only 3 more. is that correct?

I don't see the need for fog lights on at night.bmw lights are as good as any others.fog lights are for, as discribed. If you are doing a lot of night driving long distance. Foglights can get to be annoying. And though it be the law recomened that you keep your vision to the left of the road.Crash proofing yourself means you have to keep one eye on the opposing or on comming vehicle in case he or she drifts to your side while texting, changing a c/d, getting a smoke out of the packet.or just plain not concentrating. We all know the ones. most people put fogs on as someone said further back cos they look neat.well some might think that but I for one do'nt think so. Having said all that I do'nt believe that the practise can now be stopped as there are too many doing it. Just put your lights on for day use and leave the fogs off.And the same at night.
