surfacing the flywheel
the 6 speed gearbox is in and working
-
In prep for some up and coming NA battles I ran the car up on the Dyno
80hp at the rears @5000
The car just lost power after that
last night I removed the auto box.
This morning I machined the flywheel to take the thinner Toyota clutch plate.

I'm trying to make it fit a 15" so we can it on gravel as well
-
Tonight I started playing around with the old Willwood 6pot calipers I took off my race car and found that if I use a rotor around the 295mm mark I might be able get them to fit inside a 15" wheel
-
What springs did you end up getting?
-
They always have been ..not many in this country as quick as mine
This one will be quicker
The cost for this gearbox with 6 cylinder fly wheel, starter motor, 6 speed toyota gearbox, bmw bell housing, welding supplies, support bearing, toyota clutch plate, manual pedal box. ( not including time and drive shaft still to be made)
$780.00
Edit- I would have sent close to 10hrs making this work
-
Also I now a have 6 speed box waiting to be installed
1- cut up the bell housings with your angle grinder
2- machine them true
3- weld them together
A manual box for the Ti awaits
-
The car got a new bumper
the old
the new
-
After some more measuring the adapter plate idea is out.
I'm going to cut the bellhousing.
-
new bumper
-
I think that rear offset looks goods
-
$6000 I hope it goes to someone on here
I really don't what to put in on trademe
-
This is a seriously fast car on the track, suprisingly so!
Thanks but thats only because I don't need to use it the Monday after a trackday
-
Its happening- its for sale

At this point it looks like I will make an adapter plate and use the toyota starter motor.
I have started to make up some templates of both bell housings. Failing that I will get a BMW flywheel and then cut both bell housing and welded the bmw to the toyota.
These are cheap gearboxes. Its a mates deal but he said that he sold the last two- flywheel to drive shaft for $600
This box is off a 1g which puts the starter on the same side as the bmw

Looks like an AZ6 from a Toyota (J160)
Also found on S15 Sylvia, S2000 and MX-5's (all with different front/bell housings).
Yes Toyota box. 3sge flywheel fits to bmw crank with very little mod.

Thanks for all the comments.
When so many people have shown interest in this car it makes to harder to part with. I think it has to go I just can't bring my self to say yes.
It looks as if I could ask more for it but I am not going to, I think the 5500-6000 marks is fair.
I don't really want to put it on trade me, and have tons of Muppet's asking me dumb questions
-
the 6 speed is here
-
no lsd, but does have the med case diff
-
I was thinking about $5500-6000
-
rather than selling eddie, ill offer my services to look after it for you until you want it back
That could be the case as it is just a pain to store at the moment
-
Bring it up to Auckland in Janurary for the Show'n'Shine at Hampton Downs. I'm sure that there will be people there who can put a value on it for you and possibly you might find a willing buyer.
I couldn't do that, I would want to be on the track with it
Another compact project

I played with the car on the dyno tonight.
The Manual box gave the car an extra 8hp at the wheels @5000
After messing with the AFM and the tps I got afr to 13.2 from 14.3 on wot. Now the car makes just on 100hp @5800
