Yeah, was very lucky i heard the top bolt come out in an awesome thunk, slowed down with handbrake. Lower bolt had a couple of threads remaining before entire caliper was being held in by the brake line and wear sensor, then it would have got really interesting... He blamed his apprentice.

Your very lucky it was the top bolt that came out first, otherwise you could have ended up on the wrong side of the road playing dodgems. How is he now going to help you with this Chris ? Get in touch, I should be able to help you with this.

  2. The compatibility of the components are most likely wrong, causing high temperatures and warping the discs. I suggest starting again using the right parts. This is why we only use ATE German components that won't give you problems.

BTW: The loose caliper had the potential to kill someone. Blue thread lock should have also been used.

Depends how long you've been riding i guess. Im still on my learners... and ride a litre bike ?

I rode 650's, 750's, Rd 350's and Vincent 1000's back in the day... in jandals and no helmets at times, it wasn't compulsory back then... no learners in those days... I'm still here

Hi Michael i'd say it would be just some custom engine mounts really just like any other swap and yes the sump does need to be modified. This is why i have gone with the dry sump setup, if you have a look at the pictures i posted of the sump that i am getting, it makes for so much more room for sump clearance as there pretty much is no sump.

So in saying that Nathan this will allow me to mount the motor as low as possible which i'm hoping to give me a bit more room to make some decent exhaust headers. worst case make something similar to the s85 v10 manifolds

  5. All of the lollipop type bushes have alignment marks. If they don't, buy a better brand. Solids are better, however more work is involved fitting them and locking them into position. I've done heaps over the years. Been a while though

  6. It would be a lesser risk, however the higher risk is not getting someone who knows what they are doing carrying out the PPI. The second high risk factor is buying something you cannot afford to service & maintain over the period of ownership, and who you choose to maintain it.
