Its scary how you can see it start to come apart well before the crash -
Right then, Ive had my legal team (wife) look it over and yes it is an offence. All the statutes are on the web which is handy.See here.... Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986 Part 1 Registration and licensing of motor vehicles (s 4 to s [36A) Licences for motor vehicles 17 Unauthorised, deceptive, or obscured registration plates or unauthorised licence .... (e)Uses any motor vehicle which has affixed to it any registration plate or licence which is not authorised by or under this Act to be affixed to that vehicle or any other item which in either case is likely to be mistaken for any authorised registration plate or licence; or The only way to have a legal plate is for it to be authorised by the registrar, or by someone who is authorised by the registrar. Bugger !

Its on alt.binaries.tv If you get yourself a newsgroup reader that groups it all together for you you can download it in a flash...took me ten minutes. I use a piece of software called UseNeXT but there are plenty of others that do the same thing. Basically for a fee (6 euro a month) they group together all the files in a newsgroup (thats any newsgroup) and you can use that information to download all the pieces to ensure you get all the file. Much better than torrents with people expecting you to upload as much as you download. -

Nope no limits. Im going to try a few things, but I definately think its ie7. Ill try firefox for a while and see how that goes. Do you ie7 guys have the phising filter turned on or off ? Also are you starting with the add-ons or not ?

Dont mean to drag an old thread up but I heard some time ago that TBMW has been picked up by another publisher (or will continue to be printed somehow or other). Unfortunately the first couple of issues in the UK have been slated because of the amount of advertising thats now in it and the lack of articles. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Yes mate, I just got a set for a friend. They are very good, but what I didnt notice at first was that the blue ends are just stickers. Very good stickers but knowing that I wouldve liked to have put them on myself as they are very slightly off center and being the perfectionist that I am I wouldve preferred to have spent three times as long doing it to make sure they were perfectly straight !

I wondered about the ram too Ken, but its been when Ive had two tabs open as well as five tabs. The thing is that Im getting it with firefox aswell. Even with only two tabs open I get the window telling me that the BS server is busy and that I need to try again....or words to that effect. Ive tried turning off the phising filter and loading without the add-ons but its still slow. Ive also got firefox going and loaded up all the updates for that, so Ill try that for a while and see if there is any change.

I must have really upset someone because I got no discount for ordering two sets and no emails with pretty pictures first Wouldnt stop me using or recommending him though, cant argue with the fact he immediately sent another set out. Brilliant service. I think he even answered one of my emails on New Years Day !

No offence taken Im keen to discuss the point, but this comment is just daft.I would guess that there are hundreds of cars being driven around that are illegal. It makes no difference if the driver is sober or not, the car is an accident waiting to happen and I bet there are more deaths on NZ roads caused by cars that are illegal than by one person who got out when perhaps they shouldnt have.

IE7 got installed on my laptop the other day whilst I wasnt really paying attention and since then BS has been incredibly slow....in fact most websites have been. Ive done all the suggested changes off the web and have just loaded firefox to have a play with. Firefox however is giving me a similar error but saying that BS is having problems. So is anyone else finding it slow at the moment ?

Are these the ones off trademe ?

The police see an easy target though dont they, so who can blame them. Take the example of this thread. They took ONE cark park and the result was....'sh*t load of old school cars got pinkied for no certs' and '6-7 cars got towed' - if the original post is to be believed. How many cars can you get in a typical McD's car park ? 20-30 maybe....so around a 1/3 of them were illegal in some way. Id say thats 1-0 to the police. The simple fact is if you fit into the percentages then you are going to be looked at. Whether your a hard worker or not means jack sh!t. Your comment about the 'havoc' you cause is interesting. How many of those cars that were towed couldve ended up killing someone on the way home that night ? You might cause a little 'havoc' in your eyes at the time your all prowling the streets at 10mph, but how good is that car at driving under normal conditions when your going home ? Dont blame the police for taking the easy way out, take responsibility for your own actions and modify your car legally. If you do that then you have no cause for concern.

Ive recently bought two sets of plates through these guys. Whilst the second set took what seemed like an age to arrive it was the first set that caused the most trouble. They just never turned up after nearly two months. However Chris immediately offered to send a new set out and I received them within a week ! The german plates are 'pressed' just like the NZ ones (my UK plates are a solid plastic) but I was surprised that they are just stickers on the plate - the flag and fern. It made me wonder if anyone has access to a sheet of plastic and a half decent printer that they could do there own in NZ. I can certainly recommend germanplates and if you want the backing plates aswell the total cost is NZ 115 (give or take)
