Painting those wheels is just plain wrong. Thats already a great looking car with some special alloys, dont spoil it by painting them.

Wash your mouth out !

Hi Charlie Just an observation on your listing. If you were to fix the 'two little intermittent' problems and remove that from your listing you're bound to get more positive reactions. Its a sin to sell a car with small problems with it !
-
Speedy, where'd you get that first pick from......you got it any bigger ?
-
Please dont be tempted to multiply GBP by three and think thats an equivalent price in NZ. The cost of living is vastly different between the two countries and wages are an even bigger gap.5k was a month wages for me over there and I certainly dont earn 20k a month here !! Ultimately as kerrynz has said, time will tell. [edit] Forget to mention M3Cab that your prices are way over the top. You can pick up excellent 325 sport's for well under 5k these days.

Ive just seen that you can now get the Union Jack on the left of a plate (and strangely the South African flag aswell) along with the usual NZ euro plate and the black NZ flag. That can only be good for those of us with 'euro' euro plates as there are just so many different variations now that we are less likely to have any problems, not that I have had. But feck me 399 dollars for an UPGRADE ! Ill stick to paying 70-100 from the UK and Germany thank you very much.

I guess the thing for me is that I dont see the one 'buyer' who is willing to pay, what I think we all agree, is an extraordinary amount of money as 'the market'. Surely you could count the number of people willing to pay 20 large for this car on one hand. Maybe Im not in the right 'circles' when it comes to BMW ownership Unfortunately opinions are like ar$eholes, everyones got one and with TradeMe being as anonymous as it is everyone likes to have their say. The thing is he has gone to the mass public by using TradeMe and has to accept that he will get these sorts of comments. 99% of people looking at these cars are just going to laugh when they have seen plenty of cars of similar age, and in similar condition go for much less. Perhaps I just dont value classics as much or just dont consider an e30 as a classic.

Do a search of the forums mate, plenty of e39 talk to be found. Also this will help. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=7327

Do you not think the market IS telling him its overpriced ?

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice I was a big mtech2 fan a while ago, then went off it a little but thats brought it all back. I can see that car with a set of Alpina's under the arches I wish I knew someone who had the whole kit for sale

Paul,I can get all this to your door for 320 dollars (give or take a couple for exchange rate variance) Gimme a shout if your keen. Jed, Dont want to hijack your thread but if its something you cant get then I figured it would be ok.

I can see what your trying to say Richard (and Ive seen your comment on the auction aswell) but the simple fact is that for any car there is a ceiling price and only those with more money than sense are going to pay 20k for an m325 that IMO just isnt special enough. An M3 maybe but not an m325. 34k for an e28 M5 is another example thats just plain crazy in my opinion. e28's and e30's have an awfully long way to go before gaining classic status, but if someone has got 20k lying around with nothing better to do then by all means buy the m325 and stick it in a garage for the rest of its life because anything you do to it is going to drop its value. And whats the point of a car sitting in a garage ?

Silly boy.How much alcohol do you think you still had in your system when you got behind the wheel ?
-
I can imagine what the results will be like with only 50 people doing it....but then with 1500+ on here now how many would actually do it anyway ?

hahaha....a van....thats funny I dont think the 7 is THAT much bigger than a 5 but its not that often that Ive had them next to each other. Never bothered to look at the stats either does anyone know ? Ive been contemplating getting an e39 touring as our 'family' car but even then Im not sure our kids can get in comfortably in the back with the seats all the way back. What alot of people forget is that kids feet dont make it to the floor, especially when they are in car seats, and that means their feet are directly against the back of the front seat and the top of the rear seats, and thats a big difference to an adult who can get their feet under the front seat.

I have a sneaky feeling I saw this wriiten down the other day and it said 9nm But if I were you Id wait for someone to confirm that !

Clear fronts and sides, DTM mirrors Tints (just subtle not full on dark) Job done. Seriously though its a stunning car Sam I dont see what more you can do to it to be honest !

If you want room here's an example. Im 6'5 and my wife is 6' so our seats are all the way back. Our kids are not short for their ages either (4 and 6, both in full booster seats) and they have plenty of room. Last weekend we took the kids to Staglands (animal park) for the day and had all the stuff for a picnic, massive chilly bin, backpacks, change of clothes and all that, all the stuff you need for a day out with the kids, Im sure you know what I mean. The boot already had a whole load of other stuff from the 3 in it, carpets, mats, various parts, footballs etc. On the way home we get a call from Ian, he has my dash for the 3. So we detour and stick that in the boot along with all the other stuff. No mess, no hassle. Spargo hits the nail on the head, manager vs ceo. As for servicing costs if you find a decent independent place then its not going to be that much more than a 5. I have two friends with e39 540's and mine has been alot cheaper over the two years than both of them. Stealers on the other hand are going to screw you entirely. You can easily get parts from the UK or Germany if you need to, but be prepared to wait if you need it from Germany. The dealers rarely keep the parts in NZ (or so they say) but on a couple of ocassions Ive found them in the country. As for fuel costs, this is a subsject close to my heart. Our other car is a twin turbo scooby wagon and its just as thirsty. We live in the hills in Wellington and obviously the 7 drinks (I get 14mpg) but on the open road I can get 30mpg. A friend and I worked it out with figures for a standard 2l cars economy and mine worked out to be 60 dollars a month more expensive. Peanuts. The power is addictive and as I have the sports suspension with 18' m-pars I can throw it around a bit. Its no go cart but Ive surprised many a boy racer by leaving them behind. Honestly, take your time and look around, find a good one and you will not regret getting the 7 over the 5. I honestly dont think there is a comparison. As Cain says you can get a 5 with all the toys but you are going to pay a premium for it whereas a 7 has them already and they are seriously cheap as chips at the moment. A 740 is all you will ever need in a car. PM me if you have specific questions or concerns.

7 nuff said. Honestly in my mind there is no question, we have two kids and once the 7 is all packed up there is always room left over and the luxury and power is always on tap. The 5 says business, the 7 says luxury.

If you dont have PDC then is not hard to buy off ebay and get it installed....thats what I did You can have a 3k retrofit for around 400.
-
Hello mate, Unless you got it for absolutely peanuts I cant see how you can flick it and make much profit. Im astonished at how the value of these cars has dropped in the last 12 months and to be brutally honest a 95 730iL does not have a lot going for it in e38 terms There isnt much you can do to give it more guts so I say just enjoy the luxury and clean it up a bit cosmetically if its in a state. Have you got any photos ?

Whats the story here....IMO Sams Town is absolute rubbish, its almost like theyve gone all country and western, but Ive been listening to Hot Fuss for ages and I still listen to it. Midnight Show is excellent. The same with Muse, old stuff brilliant, new stuff shite E: Why you're even thinking of me scares me Martyn E: Your always in my thoughts Carl.

Mine cost just under 400 I believe. I had it done with a whole load of other stuff so cant remember exactly and that included freight to and from Auckland
