Do any of our sponsors carry these for my touring ? Or anyone else know where to go for decent OEM items ?

I hate to fly in the face of public opinion, but I thought it was decidedly average Sure there are some fancy shots and slow mo's etc, but thats what spoils it for me....too many fancy camera angles. The video crew deserve medals, but it takes any shine off the driving. What did it for me was when it really mattered and he might really bend the car (the bit when he goes into the warehouse) he's down to walking pace to make sure he gets between the posts. Id rather watch the rally guys in one of those X-Games competitions anyday.

I appreciate what your trying to do fella, but at least give us an indication of a price.

I dont care, it was inappropriate so it goes.

They didnt want the work mate. I used to do that all the time when I was 'in the industry'. Personal effects are a nightmare to handle so you price yourself out of the market. If your still taken up on it, at least you make a fortune from it, but otherwise I think you'll find they just arent interested. Can they not get BBS CH's in Aussie ?

Come on fella play fair !It would be preferable to start your own thread rather than to try and hijack Ollie's

No disrespect to the women, but that is a hot touring !

Doesnt the CCC codec pack also install a whole host of other codecs you dont need ? When your messing around with codecs the last thing you need is too many ! I dont know alot about gspot but wont that only tell you what you already know, thats its encoded in mpga? Perhaps try graphedit and 'connect to local graph' when your running the video to tell you exactly which codecs the program is using for both video and audio. You might be surprised to know that although you may have loaded something it might not be used. A quick scan on the web suggests that AC3filter will handle mpga and I use that on my HTPC so try it and see. although I only use it for decoding DTS.

Give me a free iphone and Ill sign up....cant see it happening somehow.

If you look closely there are microphones all around the pitch at 'ground level' facing the pitch and there are plenty of microphones also facing the crowd closer to the stands. Im not sure if the cameras at pitch side have microphones on them as well but you should be able to check the cameras out in the background of the coverage.

Ive known about this for a while now and as its now 'out there' I should be able to talk about it. To be honest, Im as disappointed as the rest of you, but what did anyone expect ? There is no competition between Vodafone and Telecom and so Telecom have angled the new network as being, better, stronger, faster....but not cheaper. I saw a comment the other day saying 91% of the people have never used their mobile for the internet. Well thats clearly because the phones arent in the country that make it worth while and those that are here are horrendously expensive, as are the broadband plans themselves. Not because they dont want to. I mean, who on earth is going to sign up to a 20Mb plan ? Ive seen whats possible with an iphone and if they were cheaper and the data was cheaper Id be the first in line. A friend can watch anything he has recorded on his HTPC for example as clearly as if he was watching it at home. Streaming live tv is just around the corner and thats all using free software with the only barrier being the cost of the phone and the data. I would never need to carry an ipod again because I could stream all my music, video, movies, tv, photos etc straight to the iphone. With v3 of the firmware satnav will be available too, so who would buy a dedicated satnav? The plan Im on with Voda at the moment gives me 60mins of calls, 600 txts and a free best mate. The equivalent with Telecom is $48. It has been mentioned that because Telecom are charging by the second (after the first minute) that you can get upto 25% more minutes than the 50 minutes suggests. But its only any good if your calls are short and many. So Vodafone continues to get my money and they have no incentive themselves to drop prices.

Courtesy and good manners cost nothing though G, and in my experience with BMW dealers in NZ they are sorely lacking in both.A cuppa costs nothing and IMO a bulb should be changed for free no matter what the car. It costs them nothing, takes less than a minute and yet you walk away feeling a million dollars. Ive not seen any of these threads ever 'generalise' across the whole industry Brian, just the people directly involved. Of course bulbs can blow at any time, but you cant tell me your first reaction in this situation would be to say they hadnt fixed the problem.

Land Transport (Enforcement Powers) Amendment Bill

*sigh*All of which the 'boy racers' have been guilty of when they all get together. Come on people....stop being so bloody sensitive about it. There is a group of people (who you may or may not be associated with) who get together to do stupid things in cars. They are generally defined as 'boy racers'. Age doesnt come into it, wealth doesnt come into it, the car you own doesnt come into it, although its fair to say there is a stereotype and stereotypes dont usually come about by accident. Just because some BS members fit the stereotype does not mean they are 'boy racers' but when you the 'law' I can imagine that you get results by pulling people over who fit that stereotype. Does it make it right ? Probably not, but Im sure the argument is that if your looking for someone who does stupid things with cars, you dont start off by looking at people cruising along in their late model 'whatever' with a couple of kids in the back do you? -
Get the owner to take it to Vijay at Page European for a proper pre-purchase inspection. It will be the best money you'll ever spend.
-
Ive owned both.Whilst the v8 is a truely great engine, it isnt a patch on the v12! Power, torque, everything is amazing and I wouldnt hesitate to own another one. Its not much quicker than the v8 but the noise once you get above 4k in revs is truely superb. Do your home work first though, fixing can be expensive if you buy a dud. But get one thats been well looked after and you will have a gem.

^^^^ At last someone with a sensible set of solutions to the problem. Ollie for PM. -
A wise decision in the current climate I think Ian. There are not a lot of buyers out there and even fewer cars worth changing for. Even Im starting to look at the touring in a new light......admittedly the heated seats in this weather is helping

Change the record Pjay, that discussion has been done to death. -
Go to as many wreckers as you can find and buy up all the euro satnavs and radios you can get into your luggage....and if you come across an e39 Alpina front lip Oh and beer
-
Settle down everyone, Doug's warning goes for you all too. If your not interested in buying the car, dont post.

Personally I think the colour of the car has a lot to do with how good/bad it will look. I think darker colours give more shadows and hence look meaner and maybe even 'chunkier'. The red doesnt look so chunky and so gets away without having the spoiler, however with black or dark grey, Id leave it on.
