I was keen on ripping mine out also. What happens if you pull everything out and there is still gas (and heaps of it) in the pipes? Rangi fix job ie cut a pipe and let it piss out or nay? Cheers

The stuff is Plastikote stained glass paint.Comes in a small can and should now be available at most hardware stores. Got it at my work recently, not candy apple but def. a red lol
-
In the new plasticote range there is a window stainer. It says its red but I tried it on some plastic bottles and it was like a pale red/pink colour. That was one coat and like without shaking it cos I didn't want anyone to hear me doing it! Give that a try,it's like $10 from Mitre 10

I LIIIIKE it. Reckon the big black space in between the bonnet and the bumper makes it look reaaaaly staunch aye. Nice work!
-
After a few weeks of doing jack, figured I'd paint the tech one and get it on there. However, the bumper that came with it was painted white so I sanded it back as much as I could and just primed the kit/bumper all in one go.This was including black trim etc. So now I am stuck with a decision. Should I paint the WHOLE lot black ie all black faded trim etc, chrome etc etc. Doing this will mean having to do the same to the back. Or just rip the painted one off and stick to the chrome? Has anyone done this before?Or any pics on how it will come out roughly? Note, will be smoking tails, indicators, fogs when Ollie is back! Car is pre f/l E30 and is BMW scwartz Honest views please! Chur

Word.Faded paint sucks.Didn't think anyone else did the same as me Conversion looks mint man Good work

Cheers man, will have a go at it today if my work has the right adaptor. Thanks for the help

Ohh k. So heres my findings on what I think the temp sender is. Is it the one circled A? if not there were 2 more sender looking bits around the area marked B. If it is A,do I just unblot it,find an appropriate thread connector and stick the new one in? Cheers
-
Do you think you could maybe take a picture of where the tard light sender is?I really have no idea aye. The thread adaptor should be sweet just get em from work.

Yeh Chris exactly where I want to put mine...just get a piece of plastic from Acryform and Bobs ya uncle. Sorry Will..they are mechanical and have a massive coiled thing on the back of them with a big probe looking thing on the ends. I read on some site that there is an adapter for the oil sump plug that is basicly the sump plug with a threaded hole and the oil temp probe goes into it.sounds easy enough... Chur Edit: also read that f**king with the factory sensor and not doing it properly can lead to unstable idle etc.Me being a noob don't wanna even start there bahah

Woohoo got myself 3 2nd hand Trisco gauges for xmas from my rice next door neighboor. And had to leave our holiday accomodation in Ahipara due to unforseen circumstances. Anyways figured why not put em in seeing my factory water temp gauge is stuffed. So basicly got the wiring side of it sussed just need to figure out where to tap the senders to.I've read that for the water temp you just cut a radiator hose in half and stick in a T-joiner and stick the sender into that.Sounds easy enough. What about for the oil temp and oil pressure?..I can't really figure out why I would need an oil temp gauge so might flag that as it will mean the little space I have for them will be all jammed and poo. But anyways, where do I put the sender for the oil temp? and how do I do the oil pressure one all together? Figured I'd run the wires etc through the hole for the steering rack as thats easily accessible and quite close to where I need it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry to hijack your thread dude. But could you use the same steps as Chris mentioned above to polish the rocker cover and inlet manifold etc etc? ohh and also Autosol FTW!

That's how to do it...lessons take about 6 times as long to learn something "by the book" compared to if you just sit on a practice pad and razz it. Sure Roger will disagree here. -
Well if I steer clear of you,I should see them coming! One of my headlights is bung and the other one is filled with water...or I would too haha
