Woooh, I know this car and the owner is fastidious with looking after it. It's probably in as good condition as the one I sold 6 months ago for $25k. I can personally vouch for it.

Just to let you know peoples, that I sold the old girl today <big lump in the throat, sob, sob> Got the 25k I was asking in the end and it's gone to a genuine enthusiast in Taupo who I think will treat it as it is meant to be treated. With tender care and the odd good thrashing. He's looking to sell his NZ new 635 csi if anyone is interested. Just PM me or email on [email protected] I happened to be coming back up from Napier when he phoned me and so I called in with all the family and 300kg worth of sh*t in the boot and roof box and he basically bought it on the spot. I couldn't leave the family on the side of the road, so had a really good drive up through the back way via Whakamaru, Mangakino and Kihikihi. Saw some insanely illegal speeds while the wife was asleep next to me!! I'll miss the old girl when she goes next weekend, but I'm already looking forward to my next beemer, an M coupe with a roll cage :mosh: Cheers guys, Jocko

Wifes car, 330 conv My day car, 530d Tow car/family wagon, X7 (when they bring it out) Play car, 575 Maranello or McLaren F1 Race Car, M Coupe .....but I'm replacing it with a Mumble mumble Ford territory. It's what fits the bill at the moment and I can't afford any of the above!! I've just bought a 1983 Toyota AE86 with 2 litre 3SGE in it. 220 hp in 900kg. Yeeha. Good and fun for Targa. Cheers, Jock

You think 340 is good, pop down to Jerry or Bob's and ask for a drive in an E39 M5 at 400hp. Pretty good at 120km/h in the wet, DSC off, 3rd gear and floor it. Beautifully controllable powerslide. It's what I've loved about the E34 too, you get a full warning on everything that is about to happen, and when it does, it's so controllable. Can't wait for the E60, only 507 HP Also wouldn't mind a drive in an E55 Merc with 1000nm of tourque. Cheers, Jock

3.8's have the oil filler at the front over the cam chain and also have individual coils on each spark plug. Can't beat those individual throttle bodies though ay! Maybe 3 twin choke Webbers might do! Cheers, Jock

I can vouch for this car. It belongs to my brother and we have had some great trips in it. Totally reliable and very smooth. They talk of "the silken whallop" when describing the 2.5l six. Doesn't quite keep up with the M5 though!!! Strapper

What a cool day.. Managed to catch up with two of the stages yesterday. The most fun was had thrashing the "Big White Bus" around the back raods of the King Country though. Even managed to get the brakes fading in a couple of spots. Only had three people offer to buy my car off me though. Saw how beneficial a roll cage is when one guy manged to literally wrap his Peugeot 405 Mi16 around his. Not a straight panel left and he even managed to break both rear shocks. Totally stuffed everything on it. Then again the rear number plate was salvagable!!! Even the floor had been pushed up in the boot. I've never seen a car so f**ked up in all my life. Driver got flown to hospital but is OK from what I understand. M5 is now covered in bugs and brake dust!!! Have to teach my 5 year old how to wash cars one day. I knew having kids was going to be good for something! Strapper

Yup, the wife's E36 had these two go too. Replaced both control arms and ball joints and both front shocks in 2.5hrs with the help of my brother tho'. Easy to do and cheap. Yup, it starts at Taumaranui, but heads north to finish at Otarahonga. I'm actually looking to start later and catch stage 7 just west of Te Kuiti which starts at 1.50pm. The final stage thru the streets of O starts at about 4pm. I will look to leave from the BP at Papakura/Drury at about 11.30am if anyone is keen. Come on Andrew, should be a good thrash, only about 3-400kms. Jock
