Maybe Nano's, but only the small ones. Ipods are cheaper than Zune, Gigabeat S, Creative Zen Vision.... I had a Creative MuVo. They are pretty good for what you are looking for. Biggest plus, they have a radio. A new shuffle would be cool. No screen FTL.

No one steals BMWs. I wouldn't worry too much about a mega alarm. If they were gonna nick your BMW, then its planned, and hense any alarm probably won't stop them. Just get something decent with a good install.

I service all cars i have owed regulary. I maintain them to a tee. A loaping 7xxi is probably a bit different, but I think you are being naive to think that you will have no problems with a ~10 year old 'performace' car within 2 years of owbership. It only takes one claim and you are 'even', add to that the piece of mind, (worth a lot to me). I spent thousands on Hybrids m325i, and it was a very well maintained straight vehicle. Yes you could get lucky, but im my experience, its like playing A7, you'd need help. The people who are against warranties obviously haven't been stung. I have had the feeling many many times. The sweetness of something happening and paying only $100 (excess) to fix a $6k motor is worth tit IMO.

Its definately pokier eh. Cam would be good, that chip was like $60. With reference to having an 'older' type ecu, you just need to get the extra pins soldered on. Cost me like $20 from a TV repair guy.

I was pushed to commercial insurance when i alked with my broker. Its not like i was trying to get a better deal like this, but just so happens it is a better deal, (for me anyway). In summary, call a broker tell them your deets, and they will come back to you with prices. Accept or decline.

i have a mongoose, its ok. I have been a fan of unidens TBO. The alarm in my old car, "security one" was basic as, but did the job. I hate it on my Mongoose how it automatically imobilises after a little while of 'nothing' You unlock the car, muck around abit inside then you have to unset the alrm again! Is there an option to make the rearm period longer?

Driving to and from work doesnt count, but if you use it to say, drop stuff off for work, it does. If you are using if for work, and you crash, according to my broker you aren't covered. So even if it is very very occasionally it does get used for work, you can insure it as commercial. I miss-read her use sorry.

Thanks Einstein the warrnaty i have does cover wear and tear things, but not stuff like clutches, shocks and brake pads. But does cover things like wheel bearings and bushings. Excess is $100, with claim limit to value of the car. And yes they do pay ut. Snow Mooney, (Possum Bournes old mechanic) is their prefered repairer and reckons they have no issues paying out. My old man has had 2 e46 gearbox rebuilds on a warranty. I used to think they were a scam, but from my investigatons they seem fair with payouts and the excess is low and they cover things that i wouldnt have thought. Put it this way if you bought a european or performance car do you really think that nothing would go wrong with it in 2 years? You'd be very lucky IMO. I spend thousand on my old e30, and it was a resonably good one. Its totally worth it for the piece of mind alone. Dont know about you guys, but if i hear the smallest noise i start to worry used to worry.

Use a broker for insurance. Its a dream. Who would have thought i could get insurance on an STI for $700 a year? It varies hard out. Tell them you occasionally use it for work, (if its true), and you can get commercial insurance which can be cheaper. BTW, TTIUWP

Thats NZ Drift Taxi talk... AE86? Yes power is important but not essential in some cars. e30 would be one of the better 'low power' drifters? You'd need turbo though. A Touring could compete, (maybe not compete to win).
