  2. Yes some good points. I'm playing devils advocate a bit i suppose. 328i is obviously better. But as ThreeOneEight suggests, the better car is the better buy. If performance is really your goal, just save the cash and get an m3. I suppose my point is, you not going to be driving around in your mint 325i and going 'i wish i had a 328' (you'll be going 'i wish i had an m3' in either). Its not like, say a GSR Vs. an Evo or something. I think most people would agree the difference is not that big. Personal opinion comes in a lot here. I would rather have a mint 325i with cool wheels, than a stock 328i. But then id rather have a 328i with cool wheel, But then id rather have an m3 with cool wheels, but then id rather have a e46 m3 with cool wheels, but then id rather have a gt3 with cool wheels, but then id rather have an.......... Debadge either and no one can tell the difference. Even better put a 328i badge on the 325i True they go that well? Open diff, automatic and detatched e36 handling detract tho. I'm not a hater. I'll be back in the e30 game....
  3. i have a 323i, 320i and e46 330i at my house. IMO while there is a difference, they are all much a muchness around town/ doing light traffic work. Yes the bigger engined ones go better, but most people would struggle to tell the difference if blind tested.
  4. The difference is so minimal. Its not like a 328i is a 'performance' car. If you follow that logic you may as well get an m3.

  8. Yeah thats what i had on my old car. Im a little more nervous about having it on my car now. There are a few 'europlate' pressers on the net. Anyone know if any of them do a strike through zero? The sites themselves dont reply to my ramblings!
  9. Does anyone who has ordered have a zero in their plate? Next question is how does German Plates deal with zeros? NZ plates have a strike through the zero. German plates i got off another site have some sort of half arsed strike through, that kinda looks like a Q. Also if anyone is keen to get 'one' more plate, i'll only be ordering one...

  11. Evo IV is the same price bracket as my car, not V. IV's are dogs IMO. I told them im not paying, and basically drove off. Wonder how much of a big deal they are going to make out of $100? I can see they are out of pocket for time, but i dont see how that is my problem. Especially when i ask, 'ok then what was actually wrong?' they say, 'ecu glitch' um, yeaaah...

  13. Yeah but the prob is i IMO; they billed the warranty ppl the previous week for the job. So this is a 'new' claim. Excess is $100. I should tell them i want to make a 2nd claim, ill pay excess to warranty firm direct. Haha. (there is no way they will pay). For $100 eh? Risk future work of guaranteed likely subaru break downs? I need a $20k e30. Or maybe an m3. Either way im not bored with Subbie yet.
  14. Check this out. Take car to the mechanic as it was running poor. Missing, almost stalling etc. (My guess = HT leads) "Its your AFM," says mechanic. "But the warranty people want to use a reco part not a new one, and they are suppling it" Well thats kinda rude, but it has 12 month warranty, so whatever. Just fix it. Pay my excess of $1xx Pick it up, goes ok.... Hold on.... Its not. Now its running way too rich. Dirty black smoke when 2nd boosts. 1st is like lag, lag, lag, then MASSIVE smack hit of boost. Very jerky, backfire/spluttery etc. (I attempted an ecu reset at this point. Discon. batt. foot on the break, didnt make any difference?) Take it back and they reckon faulty 2nd hand AMF. The Part Supplier checks, and returns same unit confirming its OK. They reinstall, clear ECU, diagnostic. Runs 100%. Feels so good. Now they have a bill for waiting for "$100, reduced from $130 mate, just for time/labour" What do you do? Comments

  18. Indexes are for pussies. NTDOY in the USA FTW. First NZ Capital (through national bank) give yu access to FTSE and USA, but its quite exxy. $100US to get in plus fees
  19. My ratings... 1. BSSM 2. Freaky 3. Mothers Milk 4. Uplift 5. Cali 6. TRHCP 7. Stadium, (its got some good songs, but lacks the raw funk IMO) 8. OHM Soul to squeeze and Sikamikanico could have been the basis for another sick album. BSSM is the best album of all time for me. Every song is so sick. I remember i only had it on tape, (dubbed - ah pre internet piracy), and it was a surprise when i finally got the CD that some tracks were different tracks, (i thought they were one, due to the continous mix). Some of my 'less obvious' favourite tracks include: Knock me down Special secret song inside brothers cup Catholic school girls Backwoods Sexy Mexican Maid sh*t could go on forever. How good was it getting the shoutout for the BDO concert in his book.... Hoping to get lucky on Monday...
  20. My mum bought a 330i recently. They do range in price quite a bit, and the specs vary too. Some have way better kits/wheels etc. The 325's are a bit cheaper. The 330i goes ok and way more noticable down low, but if you are a cruiser, i wouldn't be adverse to the 325. You should be able to find a nice pre face lift e46 cabrio for $50k. The 325's go for under that. For $65k i would hope that its a facelift model, in a nice colour, in as new condition. BWM dealers will rip you off, but i think you'll find that dealers will have the best quality stock. If you can find a good one privately, go for it. Thing is private sellers bought their car for thousands more not long ago and are taking a big hit. Where as the dealers have bought them way cheaper and are selling for a profit. So IMO you may find little difference in price. (Except BMW dealers, man wtf is with them?)
