  1. fingures crossed its just old plastic.
  2. so you do think if the thermostat has blocked the flow and presurised the system there is a high chance of it cooking the HG?
  3. really?because the s50 b30 one i have is much bigger. and the s50 produces much more power and im assuming that means more heat as a result thus the bigger core size. head gasket hmm didnt think of that ill have to make sure i check the water for traces of oil once its in.
  4. Iv had a drunken yob crash into me in my old e30 tech 1 325. It was a very big crash! I was going about 10kph and the cops said he was going between 90 and 100kph he hit my pride and joy almost dead centre from behind and twisted the whole car i couldnt even open my door The damage stoped about 5" behind the rear seat. the rear windscreen only had 2 long cracks in it. if somone was sitting in the back apart from severe whiplash they would have been sweet. so e30s get a big thumbs up from me, they are so strong for such a light car
  5. im going to replace the radiator with a spare e36 m3 one iv got kicking around. i was thinking maybe i should replace the thermostat at the same time to be safe
  6. so i got home from work the other nite and was idling while winding up the windows and suddenley the radiator split down the side on the plastic. so i was wondering what caused the spike in pressure? faulty thermostat maybe....
  7. I like your idea but give the ti a 3" roof chop and do what im doing to the guards on my m3 seadn.Flair the snot out of the guards with a roller and some heat iv got one side just how i want it now its the driver sides turn.
  8. thought id just sneek in another vote for the Ti. Ti with a turbo would be even better. Ultimate sleeper!
  9. fair call. very different cars..same numbers on the back pretty much it.
  10. oh and Brent thats a nice repower you went with man. i thought the 4.4 came with a 6 speed if you were lucky enough to find a manual? what box did you use and how much drama was it to fit up
  11. plus 1 on the ti idea. swap of parts would be a whole lot more simple too. its a sickness with me and e30's i had a very mint 86 325 tech 1 many years ago and ill always have a soft spot for them. yeah my 530 is 5 speed and its soon to be a 535 as iv been given a free 635csi motor done half the ks of my motor.
  12. yeah but the wagons not so much/ so not really an e30 fan huh
  13. hey greg nice taste in cars e34 530 and 95 m3 same as me
  14. also i just looked up the curb weight of a e30 325 touring they are 1230kg so you cant ignore the mad power to weight the thing would have. Id say the s50 b30 would prob be a bit lighter then a old 325 motor so that number might even be a bit on the heavy side food for thought....
  15. e30 wagon with m3 breaks and whatever other bits you could use. the factory quick rack works very well in an e30 too. plus those seats and if your real keen you could shorten the dash's width then rewrap it. just some ideas....
  16. yep sure do. just like the early cvt primeras iv had one of those for sevral years it actually wasnt to bad as a daily.
  17. nissan puts a cvt on a 3.5l 6pot nowadays
  18. I would be happy to have a look mate. im on the shore and always keen for a cashy one income family and all. drop me a line and we'll set up a time my names Jared and my numbers 0212233455
  19. your excactly right.what part is faulty? have you changed it and now need someone to reset it. i know you can reset your service light on the dash with out plugging in a diagnostics machine but air bag i think you need a work shop. ill check my facts in a book a have but im pretty sure you need a visit to a work shop. Alot of workshops can do this for you as its very common software "OBD2 from memory" where abouts are you located i could recomend a place if you like.
  20. Iv fixed this problem twice on 2 diff e46's. Its a real simple fix remove the bulb holders and give the tabs a small tweak with a #1 flat blade screw driver so there is more pressure pushing the contacts together. over time and lots of bulb changes they slowly bend inwards and start to make poor contact, The main symptom is they work most of the time but every now and then when driving they will lose contact and trigger the dash warning. hope this fix's it.
  21. me too i even have a good padock car yet no place to play sigh.....
  22. that sucks the kumra soooooo bad. I use carjam all the bloody time (dicks!!!!)
