Is it possible to remove the plate with double-sided tape behind it?
-
As far as I know all 540i's had chrome slats and all E39 models after 2001 had the Xenon Angle eyes as standard. Yeah, thats a good point. all 520's came with the standard seats, not the motorsport or comfort seats. Yep, they only made 525's, 530's and 540's and M5's after 2001

Ooh, i love this game!! It can't be a 540 cause it doesn't have chrome slats in the grill, it can't be a 525 cause in the second pic the end of the model number isn't a 5 - its a 0, so its either a 520 or a 530 and it can't be a 530 deisel cause it doesn't have a 'd' after the model. It doesn't have a telephone so its lower spec suggesting its a 520, and it has the typical 520 steering wheel. 530's usualy come with the motorsport packages and even the standard 530s come with different steering wheels, so i'd say its a 2002 520i in Orient Blue metalic

Yep, looks great. really suits it.

Is that the air valve?
-
Yea, I think it would look great black and of course if you use electrical tape you can always go back to the chrome. Another solution is to go on trade me and get a second grill for cheap and see what it looks like sprayed.

Was looking on Trade Me and found a set of genuine Alpina wheels and tyres, have no idea what the reserve is but seems pretty cheap, for a set of genuine Alpina's. Only comes with four though not 5. Anyone with a E39 and want new mags?? Bit of curbage aswel but easily fixed. Trade Me - Alpina Wheels

it depends where you drive most of the time, If you drive on the open road a lot then a manual would be the prefered choice but if you're sitting in traffic before and after work then an automatic would be more appropriate.

Hey, did you order them over germanplates.com, and when you recieve them can you post up a pic as I am very interested and just looking at the different options. Cant wait to see what they look like!!

I had this exact same problem when I tried to download the new Windows Live Messenger, I ignored it for a week or so then I did all my spyware and virus scans (Spybot, AVG, Ad-Aware and Norton)All I can say is that Norton Antivirus was the best for this virus as it got rid of it straight away. I got caught out at first when one of those popups came up and redirected me to a fake Microsoft page, that said download this anivirus program and it'l get rid of it. Im not that stupid that I just downloaded that straight away I looked around the page and it looked genuine, so I downloaded it then scaned it with Norton and guess what... It was a virus. Just saying don't get caught in that loop. Good luck with getting rid of it, they can be a bugger.

QUOTE(Nick021 @ Jan 13 2007, 10:34 PM) * Bad service though, things like that shouldn't happen. QUOTE(kiwi535 @ Jan 13 2007, 11:36 PM) But they do happen and the worth of your service provider is what they do after the fact.... I want to see what happens when Cain goes into Coombes Johnston and complains, that should be the subject of this thread.I have dealt with them a couple of times they were fine(brake light switch, and replacement brake light switch!) -------------------- Yea, not saying the service is bad alround, as far as I know jerry clayton took the tyre off and corrected it theirselfs and if they're going to do that they should know what they're doing. And i bet the guy who did it knew he had done, you couldn't miss it. Take the 540 there for everything and they always do a top notch job, they do have a habit of finding a problem and fixing it before you know even if its going to cost a lot.
-
Yea, if you've got time before it helps to take a pic of each wheel, so if any damage is incurred you have proof they did it. And its always a good idea to stick around and watch the job, if its not going to take too long.
-
Yea, very nice car. Love the wheels on it, looks mean. the Leather M seats look great aswel. And pretty low, great job. Welcome to Bimmersport

Took the 540 into Jerry Clayton a while ago and they noticed that the tyre was put on the wrong way around at Beaurepairs (Don't ask me how they managed to screw that up) so they fixed it and when we got home noticed a huge scratch 3/4 around the rim - not kidding at all. was so pissed off. Took it back the next day and complained, ofcourse they fixed it - don't want to ruin their reputation. but also a long time customer so they happily did it. Bad service though, things like that shouldn't happen.

Probably got it fixed by now but just saying that took the 540 into Jerry Clayton a while ago and they noticed that the tyre was put on the wrong way around at Beaurepairs (Don't ask me how they managed to screw that up) so they fixed it and when we got home noticed a huge scratch 3/4 around the rim - not kidding at all. was so pissed off. Took it back the next day and complained, ofcourse they fixed it - don't want to ruin their reputation. but also a long time customer so they happily did it. They should fix it, no questions asked if you take it back the next day.

Thanks Jochen, That helps a lot, but just got an email back from hella about their LED lights, ------------------------------------------- Hi Nick, We can get the ones as shown in the attached catalogue page. They have a list price of around $1000 plus gst. The lamps are fully integrated to the original wiring, they are plug and play. (See attached file: bmwe39.pdf) With best regards, -------------------- Product Manager Hella-New Zealand Limited 81-83 Ben Lomond Crescent Pakuranga Manukau 2010 New Zealand ----------------------------------------- $$1000 + gst = screw that!!! Thanks for your comment but i'll look around wreckers yards for the older bulb versions of the clear lights. -
Yea, looks great, now nobody will even think about stealing your car if your details are programmed into the electronics. Is it simple to do that or is it complicated?
