  1. Yea, saw that on the website a couple weeks ago. While I might have considered the actual NZ style, I certainly wouldn't consider that style.
  2. I'd assume quite a bit more than that. A brand new set of genuine Hamann wheels costs around 12k all up. Would guess Hartge, Schnitzer etc. would be similar.
  3. Lucky! I would do anything to see an F40 in the flesh. One of my dream cars. You got it!! Just realized the plate! Soo cool!
  4. No problem mate. I've got a manual 323i, haven't really measured fuel consumption, because I don't really care. I've got half a tank left and I've done 189miles (which works out to be around 320kms). Thats mainly town driving, no open road, only motorway. So around 600km to a tank (Town driving) Hope that helps. btw. Thats running on 91 that time around.

    Idle

All good mate, heres a pic. Should be exactly the same on your's. Should just unplug. Can't find the D.I.Y I have right now but its pretty simple. Good luck.

    Idle

No, the actual valve. It gets clogged with sh*t and gives an uneven idle. Cleaning it should improve idle even if its not the thing causing your problem.
  7. The best e30 would have to be a 325i, or a 318is. Manuals. The idea behind the 318is is that it has more power than a 318 and it has the benefit of a lighter weight over the front axle. Better handling than a 6 cylinder is my understanding. Although a modded 325, with decent suspension, should be pretty good as well. The best e36 would have to be a 328i manual, although manual 323's, 325's still go bloody well. 328 manual will cost a premium. So will a mint 325 or 318is. Best to test drive mate, it all comes down to personal preference. Set aside a weekend and drive as many as you can.
  8. e36>e30Although i'm biased. But don't ask an e30 owner because you know what they'll say.

    Idle

ICV I would guess. In the e36, if its clogged, it causes surges at idle. A common problem, and a pretty easy one to check.
  10. Right hand high beam? They didn't explain what was needed? Obviously if the bulbs blown it need replacing, and that would be why it failed. Didn't think mismatched tyres were a wofable check.
  11. I agree that people who do burnouts in the backstreet's are f**kin d*ckheads. You wonder if they have the capacity to realize what the consequences are. (Obviously not) Brian, I don't agree with you. This guy shouldn't have his car in lockup for a month because some idiot at his work did a burnout without his knowledge. He has a perfectly legit reason how he got a hold of his keys. Why should he be paying? It has no standing whether he has done burnouts before. Burnouts are hardly the one thing thats killing people on the roads. 370 people have died in car accidents in the last year. 96 accidents have been the result of drunk drivers. Are you going to start a campaign against them? I can't even find one single story singling out drivers doing burnouts as the cause of anyone persons death. I'm friggn sick of being called a boy racers as well. For exactly the same reasons. As said, its the minority ruining it for the majority. One 17 y/o hits someone at 160km down a main road and suddenly the headlines "Boy racers kill again!", I mean seriously? Some idiot who can't control his car gives everyone the name HE deserves. Theres my rant over.
  12. Welcome mate. You've definitely found a great place to learn about Bimmers. Cheers, Nick
  13. Lol. Go to BMW and sign away your left testicle for a Schnitzer kit. They might even fit it for you.
  14. Have a look at Ireland Engineerings website here. Highly recommended.
  15. Get a car that has been looked after by the previous owners. Its usually pretty obvious it has or not. While you'll pay more for a nice example, it should cause less trouble in the long run. If you've ever looked on trade me in the BMW parts section, window motors, as an example, can be found for $100. Ray @ HellBM has very reasonable prices for almost any part. I was advised by my mother to get a Toyota, but ended up with a bimmer and have not payed any more than her for maintenance since I've had it. I wouldn't have a clue what a service would cost for a toyota @ a toyota dealership but thats probably one area which could cost more if you get it serviced at BMW. If you're mechanically minded you should be able to do some service stuff. Oil change, filters, etc. on a regular basis and you should be fine. Always use what is recommended by BMW and not what some kid down at supercheap says.
  16. It depends what goes wrong. Remember when something goes wrong you can get second hand parts from wreckers, usually at a very reasonable price. But new dealer prices would be more expensive IMO. I'm certainly not made of money and my '99 323 thats done comparable km's hasn't cost me a fortune at all. It all comes down to how the car has been looked after.
  17. How could they impound your car if they didn't even see it happen? No matter who was driving it! wtf!?! Good luck btw.
  18. Have a read of This. Should answer your questions. My understanding is you can appeal the Police's decision. Although, whether or not its worth it is up to you. Cheers
  19. Now thats good! It actually got me for a sec. I was wondering why there was a grill in the block and then it struck me!
  20. Johno @ Mag and Tyre direct. He'll surely do you a sweet deal.
  21. Just buy a 540. Cheaper than a conversion. 540 is 280hp
  22. At least the drivers seat looks to still be salvageable.
  23. The plane in the last clip has mean hydraulics!
