  1. I beginning to think the front bar is too stiff. Haven't done a Summit Rd run yet, but I think it'll be a handful up there. Oh well, will make me a more dynamic driver ha. Might leave the stock rubber in the end links just to get a bit of flex in there, you should see how this car slaloms! Will have to get some outside footage of it.

EBC reds seem quite decent. I just picked up some more TRW pads from repco (24bucks on staff price, good friends) and they are perfect for road tires on the track. Fluid was lacking anti-boil qualities however. Would have to step up a notch once some R888's get on this car, the sway bars are begging for wider, more sticky rubber than the direzza 195's I have on the back currently. My god does it oversteer like never before though. So thrilling.

And yes, thanks, this set-up is something I have been dreaming of since I first saw E30 rally/autocross videos on youtube 3-4 years ago.

  2. Yeah, that shutter speed wasn't quite fast enough! And the composition, if I'm honest, isn't great.... would look better with all the car in the shot.

    (BTW - sarcasm font) :D

fine I'll post the full shot! 1/400 shutter speed wasn't fast enough.. (and a girl was taking the pics)

Going about 115kph over a stock bank. going with different X-T-ream situation for the proper calender hopeful now though.

  3. I think you'll find that they're certainly not user serviceable as they would need to be regassed once pulled apart. It is a bit like the Holden vs Ford thing though, and for road cars you could argue that they're pretty much even, however for RACE CARS it's a bit different.

I have found nice write ups of people in their garage replacing seals etc. They had gas on tap however..

But yes, Koni's for the win?!

  4. Go to repco and get the 16mm adjustable Whiteline rear bar, can hook you up a great price, will make a hell of a difference, see my project thread for reviews on it :D Keep the front bar stock. Trust me on this, I have just put in a 24mm front and it's very excessive for road use...

  5. Call John at the worx 8135460 he'll explain to you indepth why Bilsteins are superior, he used to build them. There are too many internet mechanics on here for me to say my bit.

Bilsteins are superior in a couple of ways:

A: All their dampers have the same internal cartridges, from bottom of the range, to their Nascar dampers.

B: They are user serviceable. Koni's are not, have to send them away.

Now, what were you going to go into?? Those are the only advantages ^

  6. Tech 1 vs Tech 2!!

I was coming back from the Motosoc trackday (no I didn't have a drive - settle down in the back) and saw this again. As I dropped to one knee to take a pic with the SLR, the battery died. f**k. Went back to my house, about 100m away, grabbed the ol' point and shoot and took these Pulitzer Prize winning shots.

  7. Oh yes, forgot about the internet.

Everything you will every need to know is on this thing, so many forums. Browse through random sections of Flickr for hours to get ideas and inspiration. Want to learn how to take photos of saaaay fireworks? Google that sh*t. Or proper settings for Star trails? Bam, google :D

Now it's getting into summer I have big star trail shots planned... OoooOoOoooo

  8. Photography is something you shouldn't need to take a course in if you have any wit.

Practise makes perfect. I've hadn't done any photography untill I bought a Canon 450D as a impulse buy last year. Now I can say I take primo photos, just from thinking about framing what's in the shot 'artisticly' and taking practise shots before hand to get the settings right for the lighting (Auto mode is for the weak, Full Manual ftw)

The 450D is a great camera, only really limited by the stock lenses. Especially the 75-300mm lens, it's useless at past 200mm of zoom, very blurry, would be hard to get great shots of car racing with it..

  9. I don't really get hangovers anymore, just mild/medium headaches - even after the biggest nights.

The last one I had was the definition of bad hangover. It was after the 7th form formal and at the after party was a case of kristov (that cheap vodka)

    You can guess what happened...

Woke up in the back of my 323 wagon - prepared a matress the day before - with my friend next to me, it was 35degrees AT LEAST in the car, had a headache so bad it was blurring my vision. My mate was in the same state.. Drove home and threw up bile for hours. Then tried to go for a run. No luck.

    Cool story bro.
