http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV5EcSlBhqc Definitely my favorite. Hans Stuck giving it all in the M3 GTR racecar.
-
Ahh hahaha, good good. That'll keep you nice and stable at high speed, as I've seen.
-
I see you got 1degree of toe in the track day thread.. Is that toe in or out? 1degree is quite a lot! So I've heard. usually measured in minutes and seconds I've read, not whole degrees
-
I'm getting a wee bit of body roll though at the moment, the 24mm sway (when I finally get it) should fix a lot of that, but closer to 2.5d feels right at the moment. (alignment had to be pushed back to today or tomorrow, no prioritory when you get things done for free )
-
Wo really! Well I haven't had an alignment yet. Getting one tomorrow, going for around 2-2.3 degrees.
-
Yeah it's double thickness. 2 layers of sheet metal. Quite a beast. I'll keep you in mind. Duct tape is doing a fine job at the moment ahaa.
-
What a rush!!!! I can understand, every corner is a rush for me. Good luck with the tune, play it safe (ish )
-
E34's are definitely Males. Calling it 'my baby' is just weird ahaa.
-
Your engine will be very efficient!.... At making crazy power hahaha
-
I'd like to take the credit for the adjective 'monster' then And there are so many reasons for making a tidy stock looking car with epic performance. Driving past cops innocently is a big motivator, and only a select few friends know what it is really like.

Alignment tomorrow.. The trip to Hanmer was insaaaaane.
-
Lmao I love the similarites in our projects. Good luck and have fun with that LSD when you get it! (Turn in then punch gas in 2nd )
-
Hmm. I'm looking at under 200 for a fi-glass cap to be made locally.. Perspex would be awesome though!
-
Well thanks eh. After driving for the last couple of days, I realise 100% I've done the right thing. It's the best handling car I've ever driven really. Sorry to the people who wanted rides, I'm heading to Hanmer for a couple of nights. (All inclusive with my girlfriends work - works in a bar, and goes to Uni, the whole bar staff and half the alcohol storeroom is coming ahaa) Rides next week

That's almost what the V8 Supercars run! That's huge.
-
I've seen all the S54s for sale! Hot motor. I think if I manage to get another WA job I'd get one of those next year. Would love to get another 1000+ hours in the drivers seat before more power, should take a year. Camber plate shot!
-
Oh wow, Sketchup looks very interesting.. I will have a go (I don't start the CAD stuff in the BE till next year sadly)
-
Thanks sir And most were done with photoshop aha Paint is for rookies
-
Haha yeah I got tired of it quick yesterday.. Put 4 good tires on and the g-forces are epic compared to 3 months ago. I think the S50 swap will be pushed back to 2010, there is so much more to learn about driving now.. The previous limits are demolished.

In the mining industry in WA, only fully trained and fully qualified people can use 8 inch grinders ahaa. Good luck I'm still working on attaching the panel back in. Last night's method didn't quite work out. Hmm, duct tape is the same colour as my car
-
Picture for the JiB. And more testing concludes that the car is ultra stable and great over midcorner bumps.
-
The clamps didn't work. I bent up the lip the points down into the roof, and All Cleared it in. And a bit of duct tape to hold it untill it dries properly. Here's hoping it is sticky enough I didn't glue my last sunroof removal in on the first night... Hit 80kph and my hair got pulled off as the cabin depressurised and the sunroof went 10m into the air haha.
-
Thanks guys. And yeah the difference in one turn is huuuuge. I'll spend the next week sorting it... Sunroof is going back in right now, the wind buffeting was too much. (clamping and sellys's'ing it in) Will get fi-glass made in time..
-
Just wound the car right down and took some pics... Not too low is it! That's ok. Captive is only a wee bit higher than this, especially at the front. Went for a drive like this with the shocks wound to full firm Felt like I should be in a DX on the bump stops ahaa, bit bouncy.. Would be amazing on a smooth track. Full soft on the konis ride awesomely on the road though. And as you can see, the camber at the rear is completely acceptable. I like that. I don't need to run this car low, the suspension works better according to the physics of the design. And a shot of how much the rear has to be wound to get captive. It'd sit quite high, but that's only for Wof checks OMG THE SPRINGS WILL POP OUT>!>!>!??!!? Taaadaa!

Just reinforce the standard diff mount and run some hard subframe bushings, (like mine, not flexy poly ) and that'll limit the movement of the diff considerably. Mcoupe cover is hot hot hot
