    M325i vs SR20DET.

Ah yeah I found that nut some years ago But how is the shock actually secured in the strut housing? There's no bolt on the bottom.. Some kind of clip under the shock boot I guess.
  3. At almost 70% stiffer than the normal 325i bar, (using a sway bar chart), this bar will help negate understeer. In other words, you'll get some of the factory built in understeer turned into much more fun oversteer. Came out of my M325i, also is in M3's. The end links are cracked to hell, but the mounting bushings are in quite good condition. I feel this is a great wee upgrade, so I'll do it for 100 inc shipping. People doing current handling upgrades will get priority. Makes sence eh

    M325i vs SR20DET.

Pulled out the front struts today. A few issues: f**king f**king tie rods and ball joints hate to depart the strut. Took a lot of flame (my new favorite tool) and wacking. Didn't ruin any threads, just one nut has had it's height halved and it's width doubled from the hammer. Also, I can't get the control arms off. The inner ball joint bolt is just spinning as I undo the 22mm nut on top of the front subframe.. No room too, annoying thing. Who knows how to get this nut off without a rattle gun? Some pics Cause you can't have a build thread without summarising pics! The brake cooling ducts were the first 'mod' I did to this car. Helps a lot, I was getting flames out of the wheels on the summit rd without them.. Hammer + wood + tie rod. This was early days, I has chips of wood everywhere now. Blow them away NWer! Fav tool extreme close up GC race camber/castor plate will fill that hole in well. Sway, struts. Need spring compressor now. I'm not even sure how the shock stays in these things, will discover soon enough..
  5. Might have to pull the parcel tray out.. It's gotta be somewhere! hahaha

It's pretty rough, and the life is boring as, but you are only there for one thing - money. I have a billion stories about it, but those are for parties and such ha.. Such a loose town is Kalgoorlie.
  8. Just went out to my car and had a look for ya. The winder bit seems to not be in the boot, more like under the parcel tray and above the metal that makes up the boot. Looks like you can pry out the plastic slot which the belt comes through into the cabin to get at it.

I've been over there before and was very, very, very lucky to get an awesome job at a nickle smelter on 45 an hour 13 hours a day, 6 days a week. Hoping to get something simliar in july with the company I worked for
  10. The 2.5 you took for a drive only has 14in weaves. They are suxxors. 195 tires only. Ask him where the wider 15's went!! I'll come have a look with you if you want

    Help please!

A good way to get air out is loosen the bleed screw just so there is a trickle coming out, then drive around the block pretty hard, that'll flush the air out, works for me everytime. You will get a wet engine bay though
  12. My last e30 was a 323i, it had the plate 'LL323'. BMW NZ must have bought up all the model numbered plates back in the 80's! Cool.

    Show us your DIY

I call it, 'The Bushing Presserineriner' 1m threaded rod, 2 17mm nuts, and some big square washers. Works best with a ratchet spanner (10fold decrease in time taken) Cost: 19 bucks something Been done before by others for sure, but hell it works well.

    M325i vs SR20DET.

Depends on whether or not I go back to WA for a few months and do some more easy work for crazy money. If I don't I'll try track an engine down in NZ, might take a while.. But if I do, I'll get one shipped from germany/UK.. or even an S54 Hahaha nice tastic, will do.

Dropped into BNT to get some lube, 13 bucks. Dropped into placemakers to put together a 'bushing presserineriner', 19bucks. If anyone from chch wants to push some bushings in, you can borrow the lube and bushing presserineriner no problem 1M threaded rod and some washers. SEIIIIKEN, LUBBER GLEASE!! Lubed and ready to insert. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... The red was meant to be. looks so good. Ratchet spanner paying for itself in time gained. Subframe in. Ready to roll.

I don't know where else there is a 17mm allen hole in existance! So the 10 dollar proper bit for a ratchet works well Anyone want a full sized 17mm allen bit? Free.
  17. Hahahaha that is the best! Great post man, great post. God I'm still laughing hahaha. Reminds me of when I take people on the summit rd hahaha.

    g240 plug sizes

You need a short 17mm allen socket, Powerbuilt make a special one just for BMW's, if you get a standard long one it won't fit between the gearbox and the tranny tunnel and you'll waste about 30 bucks (Ask how I know that..)
  19. You can't get it N/A you're right It was just a 13b motor running a link ecu putting 180hp to the ground they say.
  20. I love the dish on those wheels! They are like Motorsport wheels but with dish.. Lucky.
  21. He was crazy haha, he was an amazing driver but I think being in the car with other noobs for however long he has worked there has made him quite cautious when he's in the passenger seat haha.
  22. I tried to push it in the corners but the younger instructor just kept grabbing the steering wheel! No where near the limit on the tires too.. But it goes very well, much more balanced than a stockish e30, but the R compounds and set-up it had helped that.. Also it's only a 13b N/A engine. Gutless!
  23. My gf got it at a Rowing fundraiser back in Jan, paid like half what it usually costs so that was good. Just a bronze it was. Silver would sort you out
